I was informed I have more cancer this week; it's just more basal cell carcinoma
(a form of skin cancer us paleskins get).
Got it in two places; they biopsied them a couple weeks ago, took big enough
chunks that I thought they were actually going after the things then.
Nope.... 'course not, can't interrupt the revenue stream you know....

I guess I'm supposed to be concerned.
At this point, all I can do is shrug my shoulders, show up when and where I'm
told and deal with all the hackin' and burnin' and such.
I had this several years ago and they wound up carving on me from behind my ear lobe all the way down the side of my neck that time....
This time hopefully it won't be all that in either spot (other side of neck and top
of left shoulder).
Pre-op lady today on the phone warned me that there would be scarring in the
surgical area. I sort of sighed and said "pile it on the heap".

Putting up a brave face for the wife, of course - and she with me, naturally - but
we both know one of these is gonna get me sooner or later.
Yes, there are still more to be reckoned with warming up in the bullpen, too.
The running score is now 6 times. I'm looking to collect the entire set.

Will remember you in prayer. God is bigger than anything we face. Stay positive as I am sure you can get through this

Damn Ed, I guess you know the routine better than most on here. You know what to do. We'll do our part with prayer. Looks like you'll be taking a seat on the wall one more time. It's worked before.

Our Prayers are with you Ed. Don't let this steal your spirit, God's grace abounds. Your work is not done. We are on your team.

Guys like you with the strength and determination that you have.....ARE an inspiration to us all.
Stay strong.

Stay strong and carry on, God's speed in your recovery! Prayers 440'

I cant imagine the thought process your going through, however, I know you have to stay positive and have great family support! Take care.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
At this point your freaking superman!!!!!
You'll be fine

I can relate Ed. I am a pale face and 3-4 times a year I have same kind of spots frozen off with nitrogen. 4 times I have had to get a chunk taken out and the last one, on my cheek, they filled in the hole with donar tissue.. I asked the dermatologist how many years am I going to have to do this? She asked " how many years have you had a bad sunburn? " Hang in there, it takes a lot of strength to live with what all you have been through...............MO

Hang Tuff Ed! "Mind over matter". We are all on your side. Sending positive thoughts your way, just amplify them!

I feel for ya. Wife had stage three cancer in 2017. She beat it, but we can certainly understand the stress that you feel. Get well.
You know, at no point has there ever been "Stage XX" discussed with any of mine....
and as many of you know, I've had cancer bad enough that it did, in fact, flatline my arse
(the stomach one 35 years ago and the softball-sized one on my kidney in 2012);
you know, those times when everyone gets really tight-lipped around you....

I've lost organs to the damn stuff, but nobody medical has ever said "you're stage #(whatever)".
I don't know why that is?
Maybe when it gets dire enough, they just don't say it in order to protect you or something, I dunno.

But yeah, the 3rd time around for me with this skin cancer stuff now. You get some more cool
Frankenstein scars and depressions where they take flesh, but usually not terminal unless left
unchecked too long (they told me the BIG one on the side of my neck was a couple years old!) -
apparently it can kill you if it runs long in time.
Same thing with spreading - basal cell doesn't usually unless, yeah you guessed it - long time frame.

Here's the thing:
Every stinking time they've discovered cancer in me, I was in a doc's office for totally unrelated
stuff, usually routine in nature.
It's been the luck of fate, every dang time, when they've picked up on something, did some testing
and eventually had the "A-HA!" moment.
You can't tell me God doesn't exist - you'll just have a hard time convincing me of why He bothers
with the likes of me. :)

Best of luck and prayers to you and you must make it thru to finish line ! You can’t let something like that beat you! God and Jesus won’t let you down.

Oh thank you so much my friend, but as far as I'm concerned...I already did make it home. :)

Your attitude is an inspiration for others.
Good luck!
Thanks gentlemen, I do appreciate it. :)
Folks here no doubt are part and parcel of keeping ones' spirits up for sure.

Told my wife last night that I had a new bucket list item and I couldn't check out before accomplishing it:
I want to drive a 426 hemi 4 speed car in the desert SW with zero chance of rain or snow.
I'm serious....
She looks at me like women do and said "reckon you'll be around a LOT longer, then."

See what I got to deal with here? :)

Stay strong my friend, as a I know that you are. Glad to hear that you are home already. Just focus on Fred and your family. As always, prayers sent your way!

Best of luck Mr. ED, sounds like a piece of cake for an old battle veteran like you.

Sooooo.....the question is....
When does Fred get the HEMI?

Oh man, wouldn't THAT be something?
I'm just trying to keep up with the bills these days though....Fred got out last Sunday, probably for the last
time for a few months - so he's gotten all the attention he's going to for a while.
