I just read about the new cross bolt main caps from Milodon. Talk about a slick design. I don't have a link but, it shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Those are splayed and not cross bolted but still a strong modification.

The listing for rb mopar shows a cross bolt style and splayed for other makes. To me a cross bolt is like a 427 Ford , couldn't find any pics on that web page of their version of a cross bolt. Interesting.

Yep, cross bolted are from the side of the block. Like a Gen 3 Hemi. You can see the row of bolts above the pan rail. Disregard the circled hole on the front. LOL
It does make them strong.

Aftermarket cross bolt mains have been available for a long time. I had my low deck 512 block cross bolted 20 years ago when it was built the first time.

If you had to throw a number at it, how much time, money is involved in the work to do that nowadays on an RB block

I can't do it as I only have an align hone, and you need to align bore the block due to the amount of mismatched material. The last GM 350 I sent out to get done was $350 though.

Not worth the time and effort. Not much material for the side bolts in a stock block. Good caps and a girdle are still the best bandaid. Callies blocks are starting to come through at Mancini.
