I've been working on a D250 for my dad as a thank you for all that he's done, with it getting really close I couldn't let it go back together with these horrid rims and tires! It had 235/85R16's, stepping up to 275/65R18's for a better look. No these aren't anywhere close to low profile, it will go from 7.9" to 7" on the sidewall while maintaining close to the same dia and adding quite a bit of width for a more proportionate look. Ironically it will now take the same tire as her Yukon.

Don't know on the tires, need to look but want something that has a nice flat wide tread instead of a balloon look. I was looking at BFG's but love the Toyo Open Country's on my Ram too. Yes bumpers will be black, still deciding on whether or not to make the front bumper or modify the original but will likely use a modern Ram rear bumper with the exhaust cutouts. The grill surround (aluminum) will be body color with all of the grill and headlight buckets black.. possiblity some silver trim on them? Mirrors have been the big stumbling block, I really don't like the OEM ones and want a nice clean look. So far it looks like the new Chevy truck and Jeeps are the only door mounted mirrors.

What drivetrain is in it?

Looking good, he's going to be pretty dang happy !

We contemplated dropping a 440 in it since I've got a few laying around but being realistic, you just can't beat the ol 318 for this application. It won't be hurting for power, will get decent fuel economy and won't ever give up. I love 318's when all out performance isn't a consideration... My old man drives like a turtle too! It's keeping it's OEM drivetrain, 727 included.

Last week's work, tried my hand at installing new seat covers after blasting and painting the old frames.

Where did you get the seat covers from? What pattern is it based off of? I need to do mine in my 78 and like that style and pattern for mine too!

Seriously nice looking job on the seat, too. Dude got skills. :)

I ordered them from LMC for a 1983. His originals had a basket weave pattern, not sure what's up with these not matching but I like this look better anyhow. Very nice fit and super easy to install, just make sure you throw the hog rings and pliers that it comes with in the trash lol.
