How This Strobe Stripe Bugs Me!

that is an amazing car for 40k.
im blown away that you let it go that cheap considering how much it costs just for paint and body now a days.

lmao !
i Knew you were gonna jump on that :poke:

but honestly, take a second look at that car.
Look at that body, and the parts overall, not as a stocker, because that isnt a stocker at all.
now post up a 440-6 pack roadrunner for that kind of money, with the air grabber n all that.

and hey i dont like the stripe or the color either.
I said from the beginning that I liked the car. It was listed in the ad as a RR tribute, that is why I said that it was too much money for a clone.
Take the stripe off, it's a bad *** street/strip car.
I totally agree with @moparmarks he should have left the SSP badging on it. I owned 2 1971 Satellite Sebring Plus when I was younger and I would love to find one now for the right price. Problem is, most of them were turned into Road Runners.

Actually it is just a Sebring, not a Sebring Plus. SSP had a Rallye dash.
I have a 72 SSP with a 440 8.75 and a RR hood and chin spoilers but left the SSP badging on it. I did use the 71 SSP quarter emblems cus I like them better than the 72 ones.

I agree the stripe needs to go away long with the rear spoiler and monster tach.
I'd also change a few other things like install a disc brake master cylinder and a Rallye dash. Is a cool car would just a few on my personal touches.
Wonder what gears it has? Doesn't say nor that it is a SG.
To me it is more like a 25K car tops and I'd have to see in person to fully decide.

Wow Mark,wow!
that,is identical to the car i bought just before leaving service/Army.
right down to that Awesome blue interior.
didnt have the cool wheels tho,it was the full hubcap covers.
i drove it all the way back to mass, and this was early 90-s and everyone loved that car.
it really stood out.
thats one of the ones that i really miss right there.

instant memory:
i remember having to pull over in nyc
the carb started crapping out and there was Literally shells of other cars that had broken down and been Stripped clean ! on the side of the highway

i was Freaking out, people were walking next to the highway just watching me go by,sputter sputter.
i dived off an exit, and drove into a hospital parking lot to rebuild the carb.
no dice,i need a kit,but then the store wouldnt have the kit till the next am,
so i had to sleep in the car till next day then rebuild carb and head back out.

Great car you have.
thanks for the memories.

Dang BR that is quite a story. Life in NYC.
Mine was originally Tawny Gold with a tan interior. I painted it GM Glacier White to help hide all the dents and hail damage on the roof. If I ever decide to do the body work and paint it will be Viper Blue.

hmm,i dont know what color white mine was, honestly.
it had Just been painted too, funny,i think? i paid 1200 bucks? for that 1,
which back then was pretty expensive for an " old " car wink wink.
ive seen one of these before in that copper color and it was breathtaking.

you have done a amazing job on yours, and i like that you kept it as a sebring.
looking forwards to seeing the blue on blue combo.
have you considered that electric blue ? intense blue? cant recall what its called.

That is a nice car but it sure fits the post as far as "stripe bugs me" that one is WAY far back.. Rest of car is good and it's a real RR but has some fake news on it "right down to the air grabber w/callout" Umm that is called a standard RR hood LOL..

I just used it as an example of what is available in that price range.

Mark what are you trying to say here: "I did use the 71 SSP quarter emblems cus I like them better than the 72 ones."

They are same for 71 and 72.

In think he means like the 73-4 as I think they look like this...

No 71 are like this. Had two 71 SSP's with this emblem. The one QuickBpBp shows are 72-4. Have had 3 72 SSP's with those including my present car. At least that is way my cars have been.
