Do a lot of you guys out there build model cars? I have been in this hobby for many years. Now that I am retired and Covid has been keeping me home, I have been building more kits. Although I build models of many makes, I can post some pics of Mopars I have built. Now that my 1:1 scale '64 Polara has come home from the paint shop, my model building will slow down as I reassemble it. My local car club, Western Ontario Mopar Owners, has an annual model car contest for its April meeting, where members show off their latest builds.

Very nice, I like em all but especially the honker (the first one). I got a model to build myself I have yet to do.

Say not to get off topic, but I recognize your screen name are you on a tractor forum too? I am and I recognize your name

I have built many models but not for quite some time, now I am focused on the 1:1 versions primarily but I certainly would do more 1:25 models if I found something I really liked (like a 71 Superbee).

The world of model building is great these days. Many aftermarket companies making decals, resin & 3D printed parts. You can pretty much build anything you want.

New kits coming out all the time too.

Wow, those are very nicely done. I really like the white Plymouth.

I built from about age 8 to 40 with nothing but Mopar models after age 20 or so. I decided that was enough and spend my time on 1:1 and other pursuits now, though I have saved a bunch of Polar Lights race car kits plus a few others to maybe build some day in the future....

yes there are a lot of guys that still build models of all types there was a thread on here you will have to look it up ,thanks nice job

I am not on a tractor forum, but the young guy that did body work and paint on my Mopar is an antique tractor guy. Perhaps he posted some stuff when he was doing my car? His business is Scanlon Restorations. He did a very nice job for me. We uncovered some real surprises in the project, which I guess is not unusual with old cars. He took this all in stride and dealt with them in turn.

Here are a couple of models that are a little different I did them up for our Mopar car club's model car night. I was on my community's volunteer fire department outside of St. Thomas, Ontario for 20 years. The white over red colour scheme pays homage to colours on this department's apparatus. The cabs and front frame sections come from Lindberg Dodge L700 tractor kits, while the fire apparatus is from AMT American LaFrance models. The pumper has a scale 426 Hemi, while the ladder truck has a scale V-10 Viper, keeping them both Mopar powered.
You may not be able to read it on the models, but I lettered them up as Fargo Fire Department. Chrysler Canada sold trucks through their Plymouth dealerships as Fargo's through about 1972.

Sorry if I threw off the post by asking, I must be thinking of someone else then. Carry on....

I have, although not much the past couple years ( actually none )
But once I retire I plan to get back to them. as I have maybe 400 plus between built and builders and unbuilts

These just scratch the surface of what I have done. And Yes, I mostly build vintage drag cars

Those are all great. I really like the '65 Landy Coronet, and would like to build it, but can't find anybody that sells the decals. I built a '65 Ramchargers from Johnny Lightening/AMT kit and '64 decals. Ramp truck is Lindberg L700 tractor that I stretched frame and added tandem axles. Deck is from diecast car trailer.

I used to build models back when I had time (pre-kids). Would love to get back into again maybe when some of my kids get a little older. What are the best sites to get kits and all these days? Last model I was working on I was going to try and fabricate a 67 GTX kit to try and make a scale model of my dream finished product 66 Coronet. Anyone know if they actually make a 66 Coronet kit? Would think someone would make one of the hemi 66 Coronet someday.

You may still be able to find the 1967 Coroner R/T kit. It would be closer to what you are trying to accomplish than the GTX kit. It comes with Hemi. I think it is a Revell model.
