This was a weird ad for a '68 Road Runner

My first gut feeling is that it is a scam.

No way a Mopar guy replied with so few words.

You know us Mopar guys love to talk.

Some more than others !

Well, at least the transmission matches the VIN...

The ad said automatic trans. It has a clutch pedal and this is not a automatic trans. BEWARE

If your seriously interested I know a Mopar guy who lives in Vista...

I just emailed him and asked if i could come take a look. Told him i'm in Oceanside (i'm not). We'll see what he says. I'm not interested, have my hands full with a 69 Satellite and 67 Coronet R/T project. Just want to see if he's acts fishy.

wow I guess I got a storming deal in Dec. 2005 for $6k
talked the guy down from $7k, because it was filthy,
covered in pine needles
(been 15 years already) for my current 68 RR 383 tf727
(I know 4 speeds go for a lot more like 25%, but that'd be like $7500)
it was in running/driving condition all #'s
not much rust & with multiple small dents & a crease DS door & qtr
also really nice near perfect black decore interior & it's a HT RM23
but;
I drove it the same day I bought it, needed a lot of clean up

lots different now, still #'s matching too

just figured I'd share...
because;
US MoPar people do like to talk

If what we paid 15 years ago had any bearing on current asking prices I tell ya go ripped off cause I bought my 71 Hemi Challenger for $400... And I paid $5000 for my 70 Challenger R/T convertible...

I too get frustrated with ads like that and then such curt replies to inquiries. $15K is still a fair amount of money and because of that you'd think the seller would put a bit more effort into the sale.

Locally there was a 69 advertised this winter for $40K, with a couple half assed pictures and virtually nothing for verbiage. Takes all kinds I guess.

Okay, I went & actually looked at the ad, that car needs to come with TP & a toilet cause it's a turd....

Haha.... you think that's a turd? Take a look at this piece of uncommon diarrhea. The floor pans are damn near nonexistant. He got smarter and cropped that from his photos and threw an old rusty engine in the bay that wasn't there before. Claims he doesn't know the condition of the engine. Been seeing this car for several months now.

I have zero tolerance for thoughtless and lazy people.
If a person is a legitimate Down's Syndrome victim or has some actual mental defect, I'm as compassionate as can be.
In defense of this guy....
He spelled Road Runner right and didn't shoot the pictures in that stupid vertical format that so many idiots do.

It's always fun to out a scammer but I'm not too interested. I just liked the rattinest of the car.

I was looking when that member was talking about the 76 Road Runner. There was a really sweet -71 in Beverly Hills that looked like a scam. It's gone now so maybe it was flagged or got sold.

That does not look like the font for a VIN stamp on the trans. I could be wrong tho, but with zero information given, I smell something too.

Looks like a good project, but looks more like a $4,500 car than a $15,000 car
