The Carlisle 2021 thread

I’ll see if I can transfer it to you.
I must ask my kids how to do that, lol.
I’ll PM you tonight with the details.

Let me know the price before you do anything. I will only be there one maybe 2 nights. I did find a place with a room but, it is fairly expensive. Fortunately it has free cancellation. I am heading out for dinner tonight with some friends from Indiana. I might not see your PM until morning, but not to worry...I get up early !

Thanks !

HOLY CRAP.

I should set up my tent and live in my yard, and rent out my bedrooms for the weekend!

When I attend I camp on my vendor spaces. I cook there and the showers have gotten a little better over the years
$90.00 a space is a whole lot cheaper.

I will be there with my son and his friends it is birthday weekend. We have been going since he was ten. I have been going let's just say for awhile. Lol . I stopped by the tent last year and dropped off a case of cold coke and saw one person hung around for 1/2 hour saw another then left stopped back by no one there. It is hit or miss unless we set a time.

I appreciate the offer but, I will only be at staying Carlisle Friday night. Thats is a good price for being right close to the fairgrounds. A lot of places close in are at 200 or more per night. If I was staying for the whole show I would jump on it.
I hope to meet up at the show !

I am not sure yet, thats a mighty long shakedown cruise after its long slumber !
I drove my fully restored 70 Road Runner across country about a couple of weeks after getting it running with the fuel injection system - I was still finishing the car a couple of days before we left!

I say go for it. There should be plenty of fellow FBBO and Mopar folks around to help you out if something happens.

By the way, I have two vendor spots this year - I should have enough room for another tent. So if you want to bring a tent you are welcome to set it up Friday night at my vendor spot for free.

That's what I do. Yup, no A/C and much more primitive, but that makes it all the more fun in my opinion. All part of the experience!

Yes, last year was a challenge. I had too many irons in the fire so not enough time for the tent. Also, attendance was down due to Covid. I hope to be much better organized this year since I'm not showing my car.

I am looking at attending as a spectator for the first time, bucket list if you will. I do have a question, do they have just Mopar parts or are there other brands in the swap? My brother is a Chevy guy(can't pick your family) and he's thinking about going with.
Thanks

The all Chrysler Nationals is all Mopar. Carlisle has other shows on other dates that are all Chevy, all Ford, etc. Look up Carlisle Events and you'll see them all here: https://carlisleevents.com/events

How much do you love your Brother?
Oh just tell him " I'm sure there are other makes of parts there". It will be 3 days of torturous hell for him.
Seriously, all Mopar and if you've never been there, be prepared. It can be physically demanding.

Yo! Anybody have any advice on the swap meet/flea market in regards to scoring a reasonably good woodgrain sport steering wheel for my '70 RR? I've been eyeballin them on Classic Industries but reluctant to fork over the $7bills they want to make it happen. Should I hold off & try to get one at Carlisle or just suck it up & pay CI the $$$?

Appreciate the guidance.
Matt

As @HEMI-ITIS states, attending the various swap meets and actually being able to view and hold the part can be a decision breaker for some. A picture from a catalog or website may not be representative of the actual part for sale. Secondly, a swap meet as large as Carlisle gives a buyer the opportunity to view many parts that can range from NOS, to very nice, to should have been tossed into the trash years ago. Like wise, pricing can run from outrageous expensive to a super deal, you never know what may show up.

Go and look for the bargain, you can also pull that trigger if you don't find one.

Matt, I think both Hemi-itis and 69Bfan are on point. Only thing I'll add is I prefer to do my parts scouring early. There are quite a few parts sellers scouring the parts as well, and if they find a good deal, they'll buy it and resell the part at a higher price. The bottom line is great deals don't typically last a long time!
