Hey guys
So I purchased the complete PST front rebuild kit along with the PST front sway bar. My 65 did not have a sway bar from the factory and I knew I was likely going to need to weld/bolt brackets on but I’m super confused. The kit uses an L bracket that goes to the lower shock bolt which is fine but for the life of me, I can’t figure out where or how the K-frame brackets go. There were no instructions either. No matter where I place the bar, when the bushing is on the bar, it won’t line up anywhere on the frame where the plates need to go. Has anyone used this bar and/or have any idea how it’s supposed to go???

Is the bar upside down? I dont think they were made to cross the core support brace over the top..

I was wondering that myself but it didn't come with instructions but when I looked up some photos online, it appears its supposed to go the way I have it. I was going to pull it off and flip it over to see how it lined up that way but either way, I have no idea where the brackets are supposed to be positioned and was hoping for some help

The bar I added to my 65 Coronet had to be mounted with the dip facing the ground.

This picture will give you an idea of where the brackets go. Your 65 k frame will not have the holes in it. Those brackets were designed for 66 through 69 k frames, which have the holes.

So your brackets are not held on by all 4 bolts based on the fact that the bracket is at an angle and not straight on the k member correct?

Yes. They make them with four holes so they fit either side.
Ok so maybe I was just confused due to the lack of instructions... I can mount these using ONLY 2 of the holes that are diagonally across from each other? I was assuming that I needed to use ALL 4 holes when bolting to the K Member. If I can use just two holes, with some grade 8 hardware, then I should be golden I think

Two diagonal holes are all you need. The mid 66 to 69 sway bar mounts were attached to those same two holes, but with a nicer looking mount.

@PST Do you happen to have any info or photos of this bar installed on a 65

Now if the “nose” of that sway bar was pointed down, every speed bump would hit it. Besides, the sway bar doesn’t know if it’s upside down or right side up.

I believe that you reached out to us through our web site contact page. I replied with the mounting instructions. Were you able to down load them from our website?

Thanks
James

Yes I did. Thank you. I posted that earlier. I appreciate your help

@PST I sent a message through your site but wanted to follow up here as well. I finally got around to finish the install. Measured and mounted the brackets on the K member and loosely set everything in place. When I tightened the end links, they actually just barely touch my strut rods on both sides. I centered everything and tightened it all down and it doesn't seem right to me. Is this correct? Is this supposed to be this close to the strut rods or is there something im missing?

They should not be touching the strut rod especially with the weight to the vehicle on the suspension it will be tight but not touching. Our sway bar was originally designed using the stock strut rods but works with our adjustable strut rods. What brand of adjustable strut rod are you using Qa1? What is the shaft diameter on the strut rods that you are using. The other thing that I was thinking is do you have the strut rods adjusted properly? If the lower control arms are pulled to far forward that would make distance between the endlink and the strut rod closer. If you push the lower control arm back that should open the gap. Have you have an alignment yet?

Thanks
