The Carlisle 2021 thread

Matt, I think both Hemi-itis and 69Bfan are on point. Only thing I'll add is I prefer to do my parts scouring early. There are quite a few parts sellers scouring the parts as well, and if they find a good deal, they'll buy it and resell the part at a higher price. The bottom line is great deals don't typically last a long time!

Appreciate all the advice. I'm gonna roll in on Wednesday AM! See if I can't find myself a couple of bargains. Thanks guys!!

I am trying to get there this year. My friend went most every year, and we planned to go some years ago now. Sadly, my pal LEEWARD BARCOMB passed away, and I never made it. I will be on a mission to find a 69 SAT 4 door, so I will have a big sign on my RV. I always stay there on my way to FLORIDA, as its 500 miles from home, and about 8hrs. TONS of lodging due to the events there, and always very nice folks!

Personally, I'm good for 9AM and noon, but I might suggest 5 or 6PM for the next as that will be close to dinner and we can have some food for those interested.

Bottom line - I am open to whatever fits best for most people.

Did you want a nice one or a parts only one?
I have a good friend who has one he's selling right now.

I am strongly considering going.. Carlisle isn't terribly far from me, so I likely wouldn't stay overnight. But traffic through DC (the route for me to get up there) can be brutal, so I would likely want to trailer the RR up there. Is there a place to park a trailer? Never been there before. More of a bucket-list thing for me. Also, I may be interested in manning the tent for a while, if needed.

Route 15 is a nice drive, I'd consider going that way.

Since posting that, I think I have decided to go up for the whole weekend. Parking my truck in the hotel parking lot shouldn't be an issue. That way, if I find any parts, I can bring them home too! LOL
**Edit. Room booked and registered for the event. Can't wait to put faces to names.

You can get truck & trailer parking or leave the car at the Motel and drive to the fairgrounds.

Hey Gang, I went to Carlisle last year for the first time without my Mopar but this year want to drive down and show it (I live in MA, it's 372 miles/6hr 7min) with my 3:91 4speed that's a long haul! Is the club gonna register together? I also belong to forroadrunnersonly as well but we're all the same group! Please advise how to register with the club... Thanks!

@road robert, for your registration to count towards the tent usage, then you would need to preregister with Carlisle Events prior to the cut off date, June 7th. That way, you would be able to enjoy the 10% discounted price from Carlisle Events and you would need to select the FBBO club affiliation when you register for the event.

Carlisle Events sets up the various clubs and forum groups as recognized for a tent display and the "forroadrunnersonly" are not on the list to my knowledge.

Hopes that this answers your question, here is a link to the Carlisle registration page.

If any additional questions, please ask and hope to see you in July.

I just happen to notice on the Carlisle website, there is a section to update your registration if you need to change your entry specifications. Likewise, you can go in and update the registration to reflect your club affiliation as well. For those who preregistered and did not select a particular club at that time, you can use this link to update your registration. I know that last year, we had a number of guys who preregistered, but did not choose any of the clubs/groups. This way, we might just be able get enough entrants to cover the cost of the tent for the next year's event. Thanks for those who selected the FBBO site during the registration process.

I am going. I should arrive early afternoon on Friday but wouldn't be bringing my car since it's a good 5+ hour trip for me. We have rooms booked at the Hampton Inn in Carlisle.

I am thinking about bringing a 71 Charger, but I have never been and I have a few questions. I would be coming out of Texas (real close to Greg Ducato) and bringing a trailer. For the show field, do you just park the car on Weds and leave it until the end of the show, or can you get it out daily? Sunday looks to be a half day, so any reason to stick around or should I use that day to head back home?

They give you a window sticker and you can drive in/out as much as you like no problem. So if it rains you could stick it in the trailer if you prefer.
I would recommend leaving Sunday, I usually leave late Saturday afternoon.

We always leave on Sunday morning after breakfast. It's a 5-6 hour drive and by then we've had enough and are ready to go home.
