How about a thread of the spouses that put up with our foolishness

Good thread !
Now I want a honest count on how many of you long term married guys ever used your dish washer as a parts cleaner ?

Me ... oh hell no,
but i do have a friend that did that lmao, cost him a new dishwasher.

No way...the kitchen is her domain, though I am a pretty good cook as well. She let me use the screened patio as a workshop and store parts in the spare bedroom, but she has a strict "no car parts in the kitchen" policy.

36 years of marriage, she loves cars and cruises, and so she is welcome to use it to haul her flowers

Lisa's (RIP) been gone almost 20 years
never did find a real viable/comparable replacement,
truly 1 in 100 million lady

she loved whatever I loved, I shared (sort of) her interests too
she was big into horses,
rodeo & barrel racing or dressage or reining
(you think cars are expensive ?)
& love 4x4's & going to the drags, she loved her Turbo Supra
& her horse trailers too, always detailing something...
we were a perfect match

Great lady
supported whatever I wanted to do
even when I'd bring car parts into the house
or out working on something at the warehouse
to all hours of the night
or me paying attention to my dog/s, hunting or some project
She never really gave me grief for racing or traveling
she'd have to do all the sports stuff with kids
or sometimes come with me when it worked out
while I'm out on the road etc., a crazy schedule really...

I remember her singing in the shower all the time
My sisters always told me that only happen when your happy
really happy...
I miss that...

After she was gone
I really didn't know how she did it all ?
& hold down a job, daytime Bar Tender at the country club too...
Never complained at all, just went about it smiling
& full interest/attention in whatever she was doing...

Always happy it seemed,
sometimes it was frustrating she didn't get pissed
or go off, but she'd give me that look, & I knew...
I just would do something different to not rock the boat
I had it pretty damn good...
We had that total trust in each other, that's love...
I hated the silent treatments, I knew I was in trouble then
I'd rather her be mad & tell me what's wrong...
She was a Tasmanian devil when she did get mad,
I saw it at the rodeo, she was very, very competitive...
I'm glad it was never really directed towards me...

38 years together. The R/C is her summer driver. We have 5 old Mopars and when we go to local shows and take two cars she like to drive the wing car.

My wife and I have been married for 33 years. She is smart as a whip, kind, sensible and very practical. She is not into the old cars (she prefers newer nicely optioned cars), but she puts up with my classic car craziness with a smile! I also have a rule that we drive a classic car to all special events. I pull out a car I care about to go to events that I care about - this is my way of showing respect. This includes weddings and funerals, plus other special events often like Easter, 4th of July, etc.

I have a 3 car garage (3rd has a lift so I can get 2 cars in that one). The only time she gets grumpy is if I put a car in her garage spot!

Bottom line is I got a great wife and I'm very happy to keep the years rolling on!

Gotta add... mine let me sell her plastic thing (that I bought her for our 10th anniversary) so that I had the money to finish my Bee restoration. I sold it on Mother's Day of all things! It had a '70 x 350 LT1 'vette engine in it, Muncie 4 gear and mid 4:1's in the rear that she drove the **** out of. It was grocery get'r #1 and she could get 30 bags of groceries in the back by putting the top up.

Along with driving the Vette she's been the SBird driver for 30+ years..

..and now she has her new grocery get'r!

I met her on a school bus trip to DC when she was 15 and I was 17. The bus broke down in Gettysburg and I crawled under and fixed it with a pocket knife. She's been intrigued by "MacGyver" ever since and I've been stalking her ever since.. some say it was Chloroform...

Come to 1 conclusion, all of the wives that except the car hobby, parts in dishwasher, money spent on toys/parts etc, etc... are NOT from the state NEW JERSEY, except @eldubb440 's lady (if she only knew the skydiver instructors had nick names like SPLAT, PANCAKE, ROAD KILL, she MAY have not done that) Gotta get out of JERZEY.

Sorry to go O/T.. If I talk about momma I'll need to stay awake for the next few days so I see the knife before I get stabbed...LOL..

Anyway...

Buddy of mine went out to jump the first time... The DC-3 broke down... DC-3's never break... I would have taken it as a sign... While waiting for another plane someones primary chute failed to deploy.. The backup hit late & the guy broke both legs.... I wouldn't have been anywhere near that place after that... He waited till the end of the day & took his jump.... He's still alive... And still crazy....

Side note to your side note... I worked on submarines.. Not in submarines.... When we needed to change something bigger than the hatches we cut holes in the side of the sub.... I wouldn't want to enter the Marianas Trench after someone cut a big *** hole in the sub I'm riding in... So yeah, your nuts!!!
