Greetings! My Road Runner had a set of used dark green seat belts installed by the PO. They are the correct style , in great shpae, and even have the p/n tags still sewn on them, but the wrong color. I have a black interior, and want to dye the belts black. Has anyone changed color on theirs? If so, can you suggest a brand of dye (or similar product) that would work with the nylon material? As always, thanks to all for any assistance or suggestions! :thankyou:

I’ve used the fabric dye from the grocery store. Worked great. Be sure you rinse plenty if you don’t want stripes on your clothes.

Like Nate said, I've done it also as long as your going darker it will work.
Ritt. Dye.
I left mine in the bucket for 2 days.

Rite or Ritt dye, I forget how it's spelled. I've done it and it works, but be aware that your white tags will turn purple. If it was me, I would sell your nice green ones and buy original blacks. There is a member here that restores them. Maybe you could work out some kind of trade with him?

I haven't done this but i thought i'd mention it since i've been looking into doing the same thing. I've heard rit dyes work. Also read acid dyes work the best. The acid being vinegar that is added to the powdered dye and water mix. I think the powdered acid dyes are availabe on amazon. There are videos on youtube of the process.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Since mine's just a driver, I'll likely take the tags off, and give the Rit dye a go. (And never wear a white shirt when I'm driving!)

I did a good rinse and hung them out to dry.
Then rubbed them down with clean shop rags.
For sure got some color off them but just at 1st.

I re-dyed my seats using fabric upholstery paint. Went on easy and certainly doesnt come off or transfer to your clothes.
