The weather was great, the grass looked like it was cut by the Almighty God himself.....I'm talking perfectly cut, nice and soft with no divots or bumps.

Cars pulling in to register....

Plenty of variety....

This 73 Duster was beautiful and had the original 360 rebuilt.

I love these A-100 vans!

This car was bought from a guy in Texas. The current owner restored it as a tribute to his OWN '68 Coronet Police cruiser he drove for the Pasadena PD in 1968. Great guy, he was eager to talk and explain the entire build process. This car is an original Texas police car that already had most of the needed Police specific equipment that his original cruiser had including the 383 HP, radio delete, rubber floor mat and air conditioning.

My first car was a 69 Dart like this one...only mine was crappy.

One thing that I do not see as much in the smaller shows are these early big cars. Our show in Sacramento used to get a LOT of Imperials and 300s. Those are waning in numbers.

This one had the high rise A/C option.

These cars had such style IN and out.

Funny story ahead.....
This guy that owns the car cracked me up.
I was walking through the field looking at the B body cars and as I stopped to look at this '68, a man approaches me with a huge smile and a totally positive vibe.
"Hey...YOU'RE The Kern Dog!"
I was caught off guard. I half expect a punch in the face when I see people at car shows with the way some of my online opinions are interpreted.
"Scott" proceeded to go on about how he appreciated the help and advice that I gave him regarding his car. He had reached out to me some time ago and like I often try to do, I responded by telling him what worked for me, what I heard is not so good and that I wished him luck. This guy was the most friendly and cool guy that I have met in awhile. He invited me to join in his group of other guys gathered behind the cars. I met 5 or 6 funny and obnoxious guys and spent a couple-3 hours going back and forth with those dudes in between looking at the other cars.
I met CKessel, 33Imp, Jim Lusk, Derwud, Steve Wall (President of the CPW club that hosts the Van Nuys Spring and Fall fling) and several others that I have interacted with on FBBO and FABO. It was a great time and also great to meet you guys in person.

Was there also. Great show & location. Wish I could of met some of some of u guys......

The main reason for going was to get some parts.
I bought a used rear window to replace the one I had for Jigsaw. FBBO member Derwud had it stashed for 20 years!
Also on the list were front side marker lights, two map lights and the front and rear trim clips....

A fairly nice taillight cover:

The last purchase was an accident. I was walking out to leave and saw a couple boxes with MAKE OFFER on it.
Inside were 10" front drums.
I offered $20 and the man took it.
Back at the truck, I noticed that they are small bolt pattern. Oooof! Looking closer, they are really nice though. Powder coated backing plates, new lower ball joints, fresh shoes and springs. I have no idea where I'll use them but I think I scored okay with them!

Thanks for coming to our show, Kern Dog! Wished I had to chance to meet you and the others yesterday, but was busy at the show.
Take a look at this thread...

VIDEO: Mopars in May May 23, 2021 - See what you missed if you weren't there!

Hey there,
I went to the registration booth to thank you guys for having the show but you were so busy, nobody had time to stop and chat.
I understand....I've helped at our Sacramento show since 2004 and have been just as busy during registration time.
Your music DJ had some excellent selections. A bit loud but still a very diverse collection of music.
The facilities there were great. I'm actually a Union Carpenter that went through the apprenticeship training in the late 80s so this was a bit ironic for me.
I would have liked to see a food vendor with hamburgers and hot dogs as well as what was there. Not complaining, just an observation.

Im only sorry i didnt work harder on my brake problem with my 62. I think i would have had the only 62 there. I sure didnt see everything, but i didnt see one.
Great show, and lots of awesome cars.
Great to meet Carl and Greg too!
