67 charger Hemi- Need new brake booster-hard to find

When I bought my car, the engine was out of thr car and the brake booster was sitting on the Seller's bench, not to mention all of the other parts in boxes. I didn't take the rubber cover off of the booster until a few weeks ago and found that it has a large break in the shaft receiver for the pedal push rod. I think the guy broke it after he took it out of the car.

Other than the piece missing it is actually solid but was hoping I could repair. Any suggestions on finding the correct parts?

Also I looked online and all I have found brake booster that fit most 67 Mopars EXCEPT the HEMI. I have the original 4 piston bendix calipers, would the 8" brake booster for another Mopar be that different than my original bendix brake booster? Here is one on Ebay, made in China(OUCH!)

Well. I hate to “brake” the new to you but that is not a hemi booster. We need more pictures but he may have sold you an a body unit. It has a offset bracket. I just bought a real hemi booster and bracket for a 68 hemi car. It was $1500. You don’t want to know what I sold my 70 ebody booster assembly for.

The booster on ebay probably isn't a Hemi. Hemi boosters have a different bolt pattern on the backside.

Are you sure your car came with power brakes or do you want them. Is your car all drums or disc+drums. Picture of fender tag and/or build sheet if you don't know if car came with PB.

My car has the original Bendix 4 piston disc brakes on the hub. I have removed them to rebuild. I also have purchased new brake lines. thanks

This look promising, I looked at Pirate Jacks website and saw this. Dr Diff told me that I have the correct hemi firewall bracket and linkage. He recommended I find a Bendix Dual Diaphram Boosetr from a 60's C body or Imperial, then send it to Booster Dewey to convert to Hemi specs. If and when I figure this out, I will post my results. Thank you.

Dean, the problem with internet websites is that a guy like you comes along that does not know what he has or needs and some well meaning people try to help. The problems is, some of them don’t have a clue as well. I know hemi brakeboosters and brackets very well. It will do no good to give you the complete tutorial on them because you will not find an original one, more than likely. Sufice to say, the correct hemi booster with the special dropped end,like in my picture, is not reproduced. It is very hard to find. The original brackets only fit the original booster. Dr diff sells a reproduction dual diaphragm Bendix booster that fits ALL cars. He sells a reproduction hemi-like bracket that fits that reproduction booster and it will work. The repop stuff will not exchange with the original stuff. Don’t buy from the ram man as it will be a nightmare to get anything from him. Ask anyone. It won’t be correct either. Just buy the entire booster and bracket from dr diff and be happy he makes a reproduction part. It will be close enough that only a guy like me can tell.

Saying in jest so don't shoot me, but a little arrogant no? Actually you can find all the information on the web but it does take some research.

Dean your welcome. First, is this going to be a high end restoration? If so you can certainly go with the reproduction for now, but Mopar folks will know it is not right and the booster sticks out like the air cleaner and catches your eye.

If you have the correct back plate and offset bracket and linkage that is the first start. Keep them and do not modify them. Your booster will actually have the large screw in vacuum fitting as shown on my booster. Not the smaller push in from 68ish and up. You also want the correct MC. Bendix Cast 2225621 with line towards fender not valve covers. I have spare NOS if you need one. Even the MC Lid has specific markings to be correct for 67. All depends on the level of detail your going too.
