Superbird Pecking Order

I kinda have to laugh at all this as back in 1974-75 the winged warriors were all worried that gas prices would kill the wing cars and could we put a 318 in and keep the cars value. I mean gas is the cheapest part of any car ownership. To the OP buy the rarest engine and trans combo you can afford. If you really want to drive the hell out of it a tanks inc fuel tank, fuel tech injection, and good electronic timing control sets you back 3 grand and can mostly be hidden under the air cleaner. A superbird that is driven can in no way possibly compete with a freshly restored panel fit fresh paint, nut and bolt show quality bird, but that is a good thing as the mods take nothing away and add enjoyment. I think you will find a bird is a pain in the *** these days the way people drive, videoing you going down the road☺, but I hope it all works out for you, do not be afraid to mod the car, always buy the rarest you can afford.

Absolute cheapest?
This clone is decent except for having a smallblock, but if you want something you can drive anywhere and not have to worry about hurting a real bird this is it.

Found on marketplace, not mine.

I've seen that car offered for sale. It looks great and I'm sure someone will be very happy with that one!! I think if I had the choice of any SB color, I'd choose Limelight. What a cool color! There is surely something to be said about enjoying a car without guilt - real or clone.

There has long been an argument amongst the street rod gang about the difference between a steel 32 Ford and its fiberglass counterpart. On one hand, a 'glass 32 can be driven without guilt. They're cheaper and if something happens, it wasn't a steel car. On the other hand, some will say "steel is real". I see both sides.

For me, the VIN needs to start with RM23. It's not just the car, its the history that goes with it.
