Hey Everybody!

When I was aged between 10-12 we had our yearly BBQ with the entire family at our local butchers place. He had a mid sixties caddilac (not a mopar or a B-body I know hang on) sitting at his place under a tarp and one year he took all the kids for a ride through the countryside. From a young age I was always fascinated by pretty much everything powered by combustion engines and this was one of the most memorable experiences I have from being that age. As I grew older the love for american cars from the mid 60's stayed strong and it still is one of the main interests of mine. I love watching stuff online (leno, roadkill, vice grip, etc.. etc..) and seeing people fixing up these cars from junkyard to concours grade cars. After many years being a poor student, I now have saved up some money and decided that my first purchase will be one of my favourite classic cars, a 66-67 Dodge coronet with a 383 BB to work on and keep indefinately. Looking forward to connect with other enthusiasts and have a place to find the knowledge that I might lack when I am working on mine. I don't have the car yet but I am in the process of looking for one that is worth importing with a professional guy here in the Netherlands. If you have one that is in good shape (complete, running, driving and stopping) and you are planning on selling it, let me know! Hopefully, I will be a real B-body owner soon!

Best,

Thom

Greetings, Thom, from northeast of THE Motor City.

Good luck with your quest to find "your" car. It's a great choice - I love the '66 Coronet model, as it was the new family car in 1966. My dad bought it in mauve poly, a light pinkish/lilac paint color!

@Newkidonthebloc Welcome from NJ!

Welcome from southern Illinois! Good choice on what you would like to buy for a first car, now it all starts with one and then one more etc etc... before long you’ll try them all!

Welcome from Missouri, Thom!! I've got a think for Coronets myself.

Welcome aboard from NJ USA. May your desires be fulfilled in the blink of any eye!:)

Welcome from Sweden, have you tried to search for a B-body in Sweden, EU and you can drive it home.

Welcome from Alabama, great choice in the 66-67's.

welcome,

I think I saw a green met 66 Coronet on marktplaats.nl for 16.500 EUR which sonds reasonable considering the car is already in your country

good luck with your quest

Did you ever find a suitable Dodge Coronet?
Yes I did! My agent which is also a fellow enthusiast first found a really nice 1966 coronet with a 318 poly and had it shipped over to the Netherlands. It was a very original and solid car but I passed on it because I felt like I had to be stubborn and go for a 383 BB. After some more time we spotted one but I could not make up my mind with the pictures we were given. He eventually bit the bullet and had it shipped over here anyway because he felt like he would not have much trouble selling it in Germany. I went cross-country (which is not that far but still) to see it on the day it arrived. Turned out to be a really nice car that only needed some TLC. The agent also has his own shop and so he changed the fluids, did a compression test, checked the brakes and trans and did some more mandatory changes that are required for passing the RDW-examination. A week later it passed the RDW-examination (a test which mandatory for older foreign vehicles) and is now fully road legal. After a test-drive with my uncle (also an enthusiast and more importantly he has experience with these cars) I decided to take it. Probably will get it in a few weeks! I am really excited. Will give you, and all the rest of the people on the forum a proper update with pictures and stuff I plan to do when I get it!
