Condo's and Time Shares

Was there ever a time any of us heard a condo owner say how happy they are with the low fees, their neighbors, and how things are so well run and maintained?

AirBnB or VRBO... Where you want, when you want & you don't need to do anything..

Yes, all of that! How would you like to buy into a timeshare and get a bill for $360,000?

TS??? Waste of ones money PERIOD!!! Condos??? How many here know exactly what is considered ownership of said Condo??? I bet most do not but here is the reality??? A Condo owner only owns from the first coat of paint inward which includes the fixtures...washers, dryers, stoves, fridges, etc. and nothing more. Now if that is your kind of definition of Home Ownership, then you are also pissing your hard earned money away. And all the is pent just for the purpose of living in some nice climate or area??? Not my idea of the American dream. If you want to do so then be my guest. but I will never see the advantages of either...cr8crshr/Bill:screwy::screwy::screwy::usflag::usflag::usflag:

If you don't believe me, watch what happens next to those that were never really checked 100 percent. Now the mad rush to check them all out.

And I bet those owners are now seriously contemplating on getting the F out of those places, maybe even get people to flee Florida for somewhere else?

I wonder what will happen to property values because of this on older condo high rises? Sea level has been rising quite fast ,flooding is much more common. Mother nature is going to take back all the gifts she gave us.
If they find them to have problems that cost millions, due to inspector's who just gave them a drive by, look fix, things could get ugly quick. Sea level, at this point wouldn't play a role in neglect. This is about neglect.

What's wrong with a condo ? I had a condo for millennia... in the town of Bedrock... until I sold it to my friends, Barney & Betty Rubble.

Yes I agree completely. I'm sure many other buildings are in the same boat to some degree. Clamp down on inspections and repairs will really jack up that condo fee fast. Wonder how many will sell quick and get out before the building is discovered to have big problems. If the public sours on these old condo's as unsafe even when maintained then property values may go down big time.

You narrow-minded, naïve, ignorant people! You sit here blindingly and refuse to talk about Florida's building problems on the beach, but yet you turn a blind eye to New Orleans that just so happens to be at 10" BELOW SEA LEVEL! What about their building problems? What about other beachside communities?

I'm sorry, I'm a Landlubber! Anyone who builds at sea level or below needs a tune-up.
Being by the ocean is nice, but . . . . .

If you listen to the talk radio, there are all kinds of commercials for these companies that help you get OUT of your timeshares. I don't think they would buy all that expansive air time if there was not a market for their services....

If building developers and owners are promoting something (i.e. schemes), then it's bad for consumers.

Well ya could keep going. The Lake Michigan shoreline around Milwaukee has been washing away for years, some homes once 100+ feet back from the lake have fallen into the lake. About 10 years ago, Lake Delton in WI Dells drained back into the WI River taking some homes with it, after a section of highway creating a dam washed out after heavy rains. Spooky viewing a large lake drain. A entire town in the SW part of the state was relocated after too many floods were some too many.

GLOBAL WARMING!!!!
Gotta be something hey...floods, fires, hurricanes, nado's, and condo's falling down...if ya get one of those make sure you're on the top floor so ya land on top of the pile.

What part of don't live that close to the edge don't people understand. I have no sympathy for people who do that, I'm sorry. I don't like seeing it, but, who didn't think it was going to wash away. That's just street smart. ( that phrase is on the do not use list ). Lake front view, in lake view.

At one time I was interested in getting a lake home ‘someday’ but the property taxes were always outrageous causing me to decline, plus many were (and are) wildly overpriced pieces of **** cuz it’s on da lake or river. Anything decent is a ridiculous cash outlay for folks who have money to wipe their asses with or go in endless debt to have it. And the costs of those hi-rise condo’s, reading about the one recently built next to the one that collapsed, getting a million and some more? WDF hey…to live in a glorified apartment building? Ain’t within miles of my cup a tea.

My daughter lived on Miami Beach for a couple years for her 1st job, so we'd go there for a week maybe twice or so a year. I got real bored after the 1st day. Go to da beach, did that, walk the popular drags, eat at the overpriced restaurants...did that, appease the wife to do some shopping...did that. Pay $15 bucks for a small Dixie cup Margarita, did that. See an endless flow of people ya don't wanna encounter in a dark alley? Some of theee ******* weirdest people. One 'guy' walking da beach in nothing but a little thong so tanned up he looked like leather with...I guess angel wings tied around his neck...WDeeF? BORING and scary. I kept thinking about stuff needing doing at home including working on my ride. So glad when we moved our daughter dee **** outta there.
