Saw a article from 2015 about a veteran went to Florida for surgery had complications and 8 months later returned to find his house was torn down. This happened in Hempstead new york. But I can't find any updates ! Anyone here from that area know what happened. Because this is just terrible. !

that's totally messed up

Long Island has some F#cked up laws. You cant keep an unregistered car on your property in plain sight. has to be garaged or covered behind the house

I live in Huntington and if car is unregistered can be stored on your property not on the street. Don't ask how I know.

I knew a guy that lived in an older neighborhood where many new buyers would gut the houses and do a complete renovation. I went to his place on a weekend and his neighbors house was intact. I went back on Tuesday and the house was picked clean. No roofing, no stucco, the windows were gone, no sheetrock, carpeting....even the plumbing and electrical was stripped out. The house was just a wood structure. He said a crew came in and had the house stripped in a day and a half.
I had a thought....
WHAT if they had the address wrong? Imagine coming home to see your place stripped clean!

I hope this veteran hired a good lawyer and got something? Talk about defending your country and then have medical problems and then have your house demolished and removed with all of his personal belongings wipe off the face of the earth. This is the worst case of bad luck that I ever heard !
If I won the lottery I'd buy him a new house in a heartbeat!

Knew a guy, came home at lunch and half his roof was stripped. He’s like, wtf are you guys doing? Long story short, roofing company went to “Smith” St not Ave like they were supposed to. He got half a new roof out of it.
