Nate can you post a photo of that hubcap from the Motor Trend mag?

And the article states that tested vehicle was indeed a 426-S?

I don't see a sway bar...maybe you can?

I just now bought that issue off Ebay....

Also found a good pic of an NOS wheel cover dome #2460647

Here you go. Both in the parts catalog. R/W/B was early, White with red was late. By the quantities the switch was very early. Probably some production problem with the R/W/B. Getting anodize color consistent can be a bitch.

Thanks for posting....I don't see part #2460647 listed there?

#2460647 isn't the dome only?

Sez, dome, wheel cover...

If the red/white & blue dome with the black center was a 426 only option you would think it would be stated "426 only" in the part description.

Exactly. Other things, like the air cleaner etc were called out that way. These were just early production like the deep tri-color emblems.

So do you think its safe to say the R/W/B domes and black center's were not tied to the 426 engine but rather production timers?

And what does UP TO TYPE mean in that desc?

Sway bar, bigger brakes, & wider rims (same as wagon)

What I thought...be nice if they included that! I had a conversation with Jim Kramer this afternoon concerning the hubcap center's and R/W/B. I'll post later...

Ok so I discussed this hubcap/dome issue with Jim today. He wasn't exactly sure either but he contacted a former Chrysler employee who stated there was no correlation between engine type and hubcap trim. He also stated the black center domes were an early part with the red center's later in the year...probably before Jan 64 vs after Jan 64. I will pull my hubcaps soon and check and compare that number with the black center. My red center domes are NOS.
