Getting real.

When I read stuff like that it's relaxing - makes me wonder why I sweat the small stuff.

But you have to sweat the small stuff (the important small stuff anyway) - otherwise you just go around and not give a **** about anything and that's no way to live.

It does put things into perspective though - it's always made me laugh when people say "once it's on the internet it's there forever". I always think "forever...really?".

Gives new meaning to the lyric: " Dust in the wind...."

how truly insignificant we really are
I would tell my step daughter who when in her 20's thought she alone could save the planet by not using plastic, aluminum foil,or styrofoam containers.
I used those exact words

Just look around for evidence of our activities as far back as Sumerian times.... very little has survived to this day. We cant even point to anything concrete left behind by humans longer ago than 12,500 years. And that is Gobekli Tepe, found by accident. Even that set of remains is difficult to understand or translate. 12,500 years isn't EVEN a blink in time overall, more like a tiny portion of a blink...

The damage we have done to this planet as a species will be undone by Mother Nature at the earliest opportunity. Believe that.

this is well put and i have believed that all my life
people think that a everything is for ever but NO mother nature will take it back in her own way and we can not stop it just except it . her beauty if people just stopped and looked and listened is truly awesome .

I have always said that there has to be more to it than the short time we spend here. I have things to do and people to see in the after life. Thanks for sharing!

Follow the $$$ in the propaganda it never lies
grant money drives the funding & the $$$
is what the people funding it wants it to say

real science, some is
most isn't

it's about funding it
you say the correct thing & you get funds
truth facts or actual real science be damn'd

did you know
the seas have only risen near 6 meters (19' 5")
in the past 12,000+ years
(most of that rise was over 5,000 years ago, not as much since)
I just saw proof of it on a show about trying to find Atlantis
they were doing shallow dives in Croatia
where it was a thriving area 10,000-15,000 years ago
now underwater
they found stuff there that wasn't even supposed to be used
yet for another several thousand years...

That really screws up some timelines of some "science"

that's a rate of ocean rise at 0.001625" "average" a year
most of it/rise was from over 5,000 years ago
we've went thru 2 mini ice ages too (100's if not a 1,000 years)
we went thru several warming periods "allegedly too"

Mother Earth is ever-changing
that's the only 1 constant

Mother Nature always wins
& she's a cruel BITCH

we are a mere speck of time in the scheme of things
Mother Nature/Mother Earth
will be here long after Humans are long gone

The speck in time thing, as we are alive…milliseconds in the grand scheme, has always been compelling to me. Yet humankind has done a phenomenal job of trying to take each other out, genocide and the like: Wars, invasion, corruption to seek untold power and insane wealth. Well we all die and nobody can take their wealth or power with them. No luggage racks needed on hearses – the billionaire and the guy living in poverty same deal on their deathbed…matters absolutely none. They're embarking on the SAME journey. The guy who fucked people over all their lives or the one who spent their time above ground helping others or who did fantastic things bettering life…NO diff.

There’s a saying there is no justice on Earth – I believe so. Is there in an afterlife including where due justice might be dealt? Some do believe and some don’t…and between are fence sitters. There are agnostics who have done great things for humankind. The way I view it, having some debates with my dad later in his life…disgusted more and more by what mankind was doing to each other and losing faith (longer story) I reminded him of how so many ills in our world have been created and was fully avoidable IF humankind elected to do so. A ringing phase in my head “God gave man free will”. IMO – overall humankind has been doing a shitty job with our free will for centuries. I’m discounting the many stories of how people have helped each other, at the risk of their own lives, when tragedies have happened.
