Anyone Interested?

Greetings All,
The project I've been working on and off
for 26 years is not your typical resto mod.
It's not a B body.
It has morphed into a tribute to my son
who served 9 years of hell in Iraq.
Army Rangers.
He suffers from a traumatic brain
injury and PTSD.
Keeping the garage organized is a major
challenge, as his cognoscenti abilities
are challenged.
Before I start posting pics and history
of the build, I would like to get a consensus
here of who may be interested. in a not
so normal build.

I think everyone here loves and respects the military and would love for you to share your story. It wouldn't matter if it was a radio flyer wagon everyone here likes mechanical projects. Post away and I sure hope your son gets well. And thank him for his sacrifice and service to our country.

As you know, I share your sons frustrations as I too have both TBI and PTSD. MY garage is always a mess. I like all forms of hot rodding and enjoy seeing any project, as all of them have some merit, some interesting bit that translates. I say bring it on! Lets see that project and we can all share in you and your sons story. Please thank him for me, and shake his hand for me. He, and you, have my greatest respect and deepest understanding of the journey you both are on. Blessings. Ghost.

I'm in the process of reorganizing the pics
chronologically, as this build was started 26
years ago.
A little history:
I bought the sheet metal parts (grille, hood,
stripped cab, doors, fenders, and running
boards) from a good friend (a vietnam
veteran) for $51.00. He is no longer with
us, as he succumbed to cancer. I had hoped
to at least get the truck running before he
passed, but time robbed me of that goal.
I'm a retired mechanical engineer with most
of my design experience in heavy truck/bus.
The chassis, upper and lower a-arms, and the
interface of body to frame., and the headers
were modeled on CAD and converted to
working drawings.
The project:
A 1940 Plymouth PT-105 pickup.

The starting point. I didn't like the long wheel
base so it was shortened 8". Proportions
look much better.

The radiator support was bolted inside the grille
to establish mounting points on the frame. The
cardboard wheels set the ride height and axle
centerlines.

The frame.
Factory 5 concept. 1-1/2" OD chrome moly.
We jigged this up on on a frame table we built
using I-beams. The pics for this process are
on my laptop (it's dead).

Plymouth and Fargo look so much better than Dodge in those years in my opinion. Awesome truck you have. I have a 39 Fargo to get to someday.

Wheel base - 108"
Koni drag shocks
Mustang II R&P
90 deg miter box steering (from a GM bus).
Front disc-Ford/ Rear disc-Jeep
Rear diff- Chrysler 8-1/4* sure-grip with girdle.
3.55 A/R

*8-1/4 rear diff used due to weight savings. With
rear disc brakes, the axle isn't gonna come out
if a c clip fails.
It was also free.....

Unknown manufacturer.
Ordered from Speedway Motors.
I needed a 4 core that would fit height
and width requirements.
Mounted in rubber isolator brackets.
Fan;;
Flex-A-Lite 3000 cfm 18x16x4.25

Jeep CJ 15 gal poly
Holley high volume pump
