people want to know way i dont want to ship.i just spent two weeks working on a deal with a guy from Australia on this site to ship him some parts.i have to drive 20 miles one way to the nearby shipping store. i box everything up take it there and get all the pricing send him the information and a week later still no response. then the other person tells me i need to drop the price on my parts because shipping is to much. i think people need to understand my time is wasted for getting shipping prices and boxing things up. i work 60 hours a week and go to swap meets so i dont need the hassle of doing shipping. i like to help people but i get mad when people do this and when the next person asks about shipping i dont want to waste my time.thanks and i hope people understand

In the usa ....open a FedEx or ups account.... You can price and ship from your house if u have a printer and basic scale ..... thanks Steve

What I don't understand is I can get something shipped from China for cheap or free! And then get something shipped from a few states away costing upwards of $50.oo what's wrong with this picture? Or is there some secret shipping secret that I don't know about?

Thank your own government for giving China a deal on USPS shipping...

..and for those with the Red X's... google it yourself "How does China ship so cheaply"...

fnkmopars, I totally agree. When someone is looking for a part, you say you have it and quote them a very good price.
Then, they want to beat you down on the price.I just say keep looking, not for sale. Why? because of just what you just said.
You take the time, you price shipping, you get back to them, crickets,,,,,,, Maybe a week later you hear back. MOSTLY you get ghosted, never hear from them again. I only ship USPS. I always factor in the shipping price with the asking price. Many times the post office makes more money than I do.
I do not sell for monetary gain. I have parts that I no longer need and I would like them to go to someone that can use them.
I only sell on the "Bodies" sites because I feel we are a community here and help each other when we can.I have been snookered by a few members here but I remember who they are.You know "Help me out, send it to me to see if it fits" or I think it will work send it to me and I'll pay you and the shipping if it does.
Sure I want to help out members.BUT I DO REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE. Right now a well known member has snookered me. I know that I'm out the part AND the shipping. Next time I see him looking for a part I will be sure to tell the person that responds to LOOK OUT !
Maybe I should report them. Again I feel this is a good crowd of people and want to give the benefit of the doubt.
Take this for what it is, agree or disagree.

Selling at swapmeets and using local Craig's list is understandable to not ship but when you start advertising on the internet, so to speak, people are going to assume you ship. Posting on this site includes people from all over the US and some from other countries. Just say no

Anybody in Australia should know shipping is going to be outrageous.

Postal rates without leaving your home at usps.com

Yeah, no ****. And a tape measure and bathroom scale are pretty damn accurate !! Add a couple bucks to the quote if you're worried about it.

The nice thing about online quotes is people can't bullshit you anymore !!

China doesn't get any special shipping deals from USPS
Google it yourself.... and prove yourself wrong..
6. Agreement between USPS & China Post
In 2011, the USPS officially announced a new shipping service and agreement with eBay China and Hongkong Post, allowing packages from China and Hong Kong to receive first-class mail service along with tracking confirmation services. This shipping method, ePacket is a quick and affordable solution, making shipping from China to the United States way cheaper. In the past few years, ePacket shipping has grown and expanded into 35 other countries.

So, these are some of the reasons which empower Chinese ecommerce stores to ship their products at cheap rates.

The U.S. Postal Service rates are continuously increasing, but Chinese sellers are still able to ship their products thousands of miles away at the lowest price. Being an e-commerce merchant, you should understand the USPS ePacket program and how it helps China ship their products at affordable prices throughout the world.

Because the Chinese ship a lot more **** that the folks a few states over !!

It ships China post until it hits the USA. This is true from any country, USPS is not the carrier until it hits the USA

I agree with the OP, but overseas is always a bit complicated, not to mention the buyer prob has to pay additional fees to get the package released on top of it.
When I want to sell something, before I list it I just place it in a box, not packed or sealed, bring it to my local UPS store and get a shipping quote to the furthest zip in the lower 48. In my case it would be like western San Francisco CA. It's automatically insured for $100 value, but can add insurance if I want (it's pretty cheap).
Now I have a baseline maximum price that I could expect for shipping. At that point I could split the difference and include shipping, or adjust the asking price if shipping is steep. Just trying to work with people and price things to sell. I don't make a living on it, just keeping the mopar wheels turning.
