72 Satellite - Progress on the Interior changes

How was the sound deadener vs no sound deadener after a road trip?

I didn't notice a huge difference sound-wise. I did notice a difference heat-wise. I've only had it to Carlisle and back (270 miles round trip) since the interior changes were made. In fairness though, I wasn't really monitoring Sound differences at that point, especially since I had the window down a good portion of the trip. I was monitoring the new gauges quite a bit, along with calibrating the new Speedo Sensor. Also was monitoring the upgraded MSD for performance differences etc. I've got some lighting/wiring issues to iron out before taking her out for again analysis on the Sound improvements...

What's the procedure for calibrating the speedo? Do you plan to put the ac back operational? Interior looks 100% better imho.

Thanks, I'm strongly considering painting/staining the buckets, rear seat & headliner B5 to match everything else. Sometime down the road I'm considering going A5 on the exterior. I think a Silver Frost exterior with the B5 blue interior would look killer. I've enjoyed what I inherited (Blue & White), but I gotta make her mine.

Yes, plans are to get the engine side AC components in a year or so. I need to research that a little more, and get input from the fine folks on this forum as well.

The procedure for calibrating the electronic Speedo Sensor is pretty easy and straight forward. I'll PM you the exact instructions if you like. Basically, it involves pushing buttons on the gauge itself to enter calibration mode. Then, using your phone's GPS, drive a known distance (2 miles), and push the button again to set it. I need to get some more miles on her to see if its accurate. If not, I bought a new 31 tooth green Speedo gear, which my Tire and Gear Ratio calls for.

No need. I was curious because I was looking at their E and A body rallye cluster packages. Just wondered what it entailed.
Careful dying wear items like seats and armrests. It rubs off easily. Better to sell the covers you have and replace with new, jmho. .

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I've read where Staining and/or painting can lead to issues. I'll probably see what the Interior guy, whose going to do my headliner, thinks.

My 72 rr has some wiring issues I'm working through. However thought I would ask were the back up light switch is before ripping to many things apart.

Hi Ken,

The reverse light switch connects directly to your transmission, whether it's Automatic or Manual. 3 pin for AT & 2 pin for MT. The harness then runs to the bulkhead connector on your firewall, pins 7 & 8. Including a pic of the AT switch

Found it thanks. Another question, does your Satellite have a light on the dash aswell as the dome?

Jeez I hate bugging you, but do you happen to know what the bulb number is for the "fasten sear belt" sign is?

My Dome light functions correctly, with the doors open, or the light switch rotated to the left. My Dash/Gauge lights are a work in progress. I have an aftermarket Cluster and gauges. I need to improve the Ground to the dash. I will run 1 or more 10 awg wires from the block and/or frame, through the firewall to the dash.

Never a bother Ken, what little I can do to help folks on this wonderful forum is a privilege as far as I'm concerned. I've gotten a lifetime worth of help on here, by asking, reading, and searching. Ask me anything you wish, and I'll do my best.

The fasten seatbelts (door ajar) indicator bulb # is 1892. This is for my Satellite, but I can't imagine it would be different for a Roadrunner. I'm including a pic that lists all the bulbs for the car. The only differences I see for bulbs, is between standard and rallye clusters. Again, this is for my Satellite and other Plymouth models, but I can't imagine there would be different numbers for Roadrunners.
