Woman quits in spectacular fashion....

There's a reason the employees are there.
There's a saying that there's a job for everyone and someone for every job.
From what I have seen, there is probably zero accountability for actually doing anything, let alone doing it well.
As far as I know, these people are free to work elsewhere.
Don't know how old you are but once you get into your 50's, just stepping out and finding a better job isn't always all that easy.

as much as I hate Walmart
selling mostly all cheap Chinese ****
or some of their 'rude/lazy' employees

If that 'public bitch session' over a PA
If it is actually warranted

&

Not knowing the whole back story,
from both sides
(you never know the whole true story)

I just heard a disgruntled worker
air her personal (or work) grievances
that went off in public

(they will probably deny her Unemployment benefits, you know she's going to claim it)

it could very well 'all be valid'
there are all types in this world

it very well could "be all BS/LIES" too

she did mention "attendance policies suck"
or something of that sorts
or
she might be a total loser/douchebag
& comes in late all the damn time
or she's worthless or lazy just a check collector
that doesn't even show up when she's scheduled
to do her job/work

some real red flags pop up to me
as a former business owner

I wouldn't hire her, just on her personal hygiene
you go to work 'like that' ?
that says a lot, about the person,
be it "style/trends" or being a millennial or not

At face value, she may be right
a time & a place comes to mind

but we will never know

carry on

true. But sometimes a employee has no one to confide in to help out a situation . Employers dont see everything that takes place in a work place. They leave it up to there managers to resolve issues before getting out of hand. Those Managers , not all dont care. They usually walk away from a issue they no skills to resolve a problem. Human resources in these place sit at a desk and look for the next victim to hire. Frustration is there.

Ive walked out of good places of work establishments because of a very poisoned environment. One that could not be corrected , no matter how hard you tried. I dont agree with the way the girl hosted her issues , Ive been there. But the devil instincts take over at the point in time. And theres no reversing it. Managers are more at fault for not making sure everyone is doing well and not resolving issues properly.

How would you like to hire from the Herd. Worked hard back in the day with bell bottoms and long hair. No shrapnel (spelling?), Tats or deformed ear lobes. Like Sahara says it’s a dumping ground here too but not because of the climate. Asian picnic on the asphalt parking lot not uncommon. On Sundays, Mexicans in groups of 10 gathered at aisle intersections. Dressed up and polite, but Jesus Chrysler. An outing at WM? 300 pounders-in motorized carts. I’m just reporting what I see. Don’t go there anymore. Zoo. Too ugly to endure.

she planned it & filmed herself doing it

that sets off red-flags too

yep it could be a total management failure too

I just don't know

Except for using the F bombs, I like it lol. Just wonder if it's a staged vid or not.

Like most of the crap on the interweb there isn't any context so we are left to our imaginations as to what actually happened here.

1. Perhaps she tried over and over again to make it work and the management/corporate and other employees would not listen thus driving her to this action.

2. Perhaps she is just a disgruntled employee wanting to grand stand and get a little notoriety along the way.

I find it interesting how some on here fell into one camp or the other immediately, must speak to individual experiences one way or another.

I will say this, taking it on face value which seems to hint to scenario 1, I think she is incredibly brave to do what she did. Sure she could have done what most do and just walk out or better yet not show up at all, but she chose to speak out seemingly not only for herself but others as well. Had she just walked out (or not come in) she would have just been labeled a bad employee by management and forgotten, after this action perhaps others will speak out and just maybe someone will listen (social media is pretty effective as we have seen lately). The statement about the pervert is interesting and obviously has a story that needs some investigation by someone.

Those of you who immediately condemn her as a malcontent, disgruntled employee, glory seeker obviously have never been in an untenable employment situation wherein no one listens to real complaints or attempts to correct a hostile work environment. Likewise disparaging her due to hair color, dress, etc. seems a bit unnecessary.

I'm late 50's, and I understand it can be tough to find a better job.
But that's my point, they may not want to do tough things. So they stay where it's easier. Nothing wrong with that, and I feel it coming on for myself.
But I guarantee I won't shout from the hilltops about how horrible my employer was.

She also chose to make a video and post it online so she could get her 30 seconds of fame & half million+ views.

All things being relative, I would absolutely speak out if I had tried to do everything I could to make things right and the Corporate side would not listen. Pretty much everyone knows or thinks that Walmart is a shitty employer but overlook it because of the service they provide (cheap things available instantaneously) so telling a new employer that you went public against Wally world probably would not be weigh too heavily against you (assuming you could explain how you tried to do the right thing first).

We live in different times to be sure

Very true and what would you like to bet that there are a significant number of Walmart employees watching or who have watched and applauded her? Again, its all about context and if she just did it because she wanted the fame and was lazy, then she shouldn't have but if she has legitimist complaints and tried to correct them without success, then good on her.

those that make a determination immediately
one way or another without all the facts,
are jumping to conclusions
of others experiences too

just opinions & talk among some other people on a car forum
nothing more nothing less

someone has to play the devils advocate

always, always 2 or more sides to every story

it goes both ways

I’ve worked many jobs over the years, a natural condition considering the way that the construction industry operates. One thing that is a certainty: the boss sets the tone. If the boss is an overbearing asshole, the employees will feel oppressed and the work will suffer. If the boss is lazy and indifferent, the quality will suffer. When the boss is helpful and respectful, the employees are more likely to want to work harder and to do a quality job.
I have quit jobs that have asshole Foremen. I am lucky to be skilled enough to get work elsewhere. Some people are new, inexperienced or just idiots so they stay in the job and take the abuse.
My current boss is great

Wait, I'm confused. Are we talking about the Walmart chick, or Mark Milley.

Dressing and looking wild doesnt make her a bad person. Guy in the Whitehouse dresses nice. what do you think now??

I only have experience with one Walmart, and have mixed feelings.
I live in a territory that occupies about a quarter of all of Canadia, yet has a population of around forty thousand. Yellowknife is our capital city. It has a population of around twenty thousand. To put it into perspective, the territory is about the size of all of Texas and several states around it, combined. With the population of one small city scattered over it.
It has a Walmart.
The upside is that it brings to our small market items that we would not normally have available to us, at low prices. The nearest comparable shopping is an eight hour drive away. Shipping into here is prohibitively expensive, many places simply will not ship to here. So that’s the good. Need knitting needles? It’s Walmart or wait for two weeks to get them in the mail and pay at least ten dollars postage on top.
The bad is that it has made it impossible for small local business to survive. They simply cannot compete, and because Walmart carries literally everything they become the only game in town. They supply many jobs, but these are very low paying, and again, because they drove out the competition they become the only option.
What really bothers me, though, is that because it is a large, heated space in a harsh climate it has become a dumping ground for human trash. When you enter you have to run a gauntlet of the homeless, begging, screaming, spitting, and stinking. You enter a store where people have dumped their kids and left, like free daycare. The unkept little bastards run around, playing with the merchandise and just being out of control. If their parents do stay to shop it’s not at all unusual to see them examine a piece of clothing and then just dump it on the floor. Literally all of the clothing racks have a carpet of discarded clothing under them.
You make your purchase and leave, only to run the gauntlet of the unwashed again.
The parking lot is shared with a Tim Hortons, and resembles a demolition derby with jacked up drivers racing to get their caffeine fix while you’re trying to back out of your parking space and dodge pedestrians.
That’s my Walmart story.
Can you sum that up in eight or nine words to make the new tourism slogan for NWT? :)

Did she? The online video claims to be posted by Emperor Gaming, who makes no claim to be the woman making the speech. The title is "Woman at a local Walmart near me quit her job spectacularly" so maybe a friend or acquaintance posted it.

Well, she did film herself and if she didn't post it, she must have given it to someone who did. File under "splitting hairs".

I don't know that she filmed it herself, I don't see who was holding the phone, or who owned it.
