These Parts worth aquiring?

It will take a few days to gather the items up. He was pretty thorough on what he aquired over the years. He was 75 when he passed. So he knew what to obtain. Im getting this stuff reasonably cheap. So Ill get pictures posted when this is all at my house. I dont need any of it. But if it helps you folks. To get proper part numbered parts for your cars. Theyll be here. Ill keep you all posted.
This is a wonderful thing that you're doing to help the community out.

For sure grab that stuff. Get it all cleaned up and see what you can I.D. Get a set of the books from Galen Govier that covers the casting and stamped numbers for the parts. From there you can better identify what year, application etc they are and price accordingly.

Ive been in the situation where I needed a part. And it was provided to me the same way.

mee too

I was helped out when I was young
by an older gentleman, that had more than he needed
mostly GM Chevy, Olds & Pontiac stuff
(not that big of a stash, but he helped me & a few of my buds regularly
we'd go over & help him from time to time, he was a cool old dude
)
I offered to pay him what I had, it wasn't much,
he knew I didn't have much
But all the guy said was;
'No thanks, you can also do the same later too, remember & pay it forward'

it's good for your conscience & the hobby
I've always remembered that too

(just don't give it to flippers)

I don't sell much of anything
I have given away 'a ton', (literally) of stuff old take-off parts etc.
I don't have much storage room anymore
so I give it to younger guys who showed interest or are in the need

I'd love to get a call like that

There have been times that I show up and everything is worthless. I put on a happy face, thank the person and load up. Later I get a call about a slant six distributor or a 318 exhaust manifold and guess what...? I have it. The junkyards are not overflowing with these cars anymore. Some people are building cruisers and don’t need a 440 or a Hemi car. The 318 Polara they got for $500 needs the mundane parts that usually get scrapped and guys like me get a call.
Sometimes I stumble upon a few gems. I hauled a stash of NOS lenses and switches and other misc 65 Fury bits....stuff is never need for what I do. The C body guys were happy to grab it up. I make a few bucks but it isn’t always about the money. Yeah, I’d love to make a living doing this but for the most part, the profits helps fund my own projects. I paid for THIS car with parts sales.

Same as the above replies. I like to think that I'm helping keep another vintage car on the road or be restored.

BTW slimt, I'm looking for a Jan 69 date alternator. No hurry. :)

Looks like a saveable 57 Ford Retractable hiding in the woods.

the retractable and the Mercedes are both sold to private “investors”, I listed both of them and the Skyliner. The duster is a junk shell, and there’s a couple other there that are going over the scale. This is in my buddies back yard!

How many did he have?

there were 5 in the weeds here, but there are probably 8-10 more in the barns, which I hope to be invited into next.

Nice score take it all. Sucks but I’m leaving everything to my kids. They’ll be winning.

Grab it and start sorting, Googling part #s, could be some hidden gems.

When I get a deal like that, I don't sort at the site. I load every single thing into a trailer and haul it home. People appreciate and remember a spic and span shed. Could lead to more stuff by word of mouth.
When I sort, I have four piles. Keep, sell, recycle, and trash. The first time through, I try to not get carried away with the recycle and trash. The urge to thin the hoard can cause good stuff to get tossed. I have a pad of paper to write down part numbers and such. Between Google and eBay, most any part can be identified.

Sell the parts for a great price, then make a map to tour the US delivering parts and meeting people. I will meet you at Mt. Rushmore, that's not far from Yellowstone or Royal Gorge.

Yes sir. Clean it up and you will be rewarded for your efforts. Regardless of your investment, much of it will be valuable to someone.
I think he wanted it to go to someone that he knew and figured would take care of it properly. I know I want my stuff to go to a friend, not just some money hungry flipper.

Good luck, if you were closer, I'd give you a hand getting it all to your home.

Thats kind of what I fell into doing distributors. I send out more slants and 318's than you would believe. I try to be a numbers guy for the people doing restorations.
