Hello, hey I am planning on purchasing another project. Going to pick it up hopefully next weekend and though everything seems legit so far these rivets seem a little different than forsure the ones on my 67 Coronet but it's a bit hard to tell... The car needs a lot of work but is very much worth saving in my books, anyways maybe a 67 GTX owner can chime in and verify for me please and thank you.

Ya its hard to tell, I have got as much information as I can and even the seats have gtx emblems, supposedly all the parts are there he just disassemble years ago and never got to doing it. It's pretty rough and will cost lots but it's another one saved... no fender tag so all I got I'd the vin to go on for now. Looks to me like maybe someone had this one off at sometime or another, that would be my hope anyways.

Those rivets don't right. You can buy the right ones, I'd do that before you register the car.

It’s hard to tell but they don’t look original.

Between the rivets and no fender tag I would pass on it.
I am going to take a good look at it but it comes with supposedly everything , apparently the fella took the car apart and was never able to put it back together. It has a 440 4 barrel that he says ran when he pulled it out , also comes with a complete gtx interior and all the badging so at minimum I figured I could build a clone. This car does need a full restoration so it's a tough choice but for $3500 cdn I am not sure it's a bad deal, I do know what you are saying though... where else would I find a ssecond set of vin numbers on this car?

You won't find a second set of VIN numbers, you will have a SO number on the core support and also on the inside of where the left bumper bracket attaches. They should match. With no fender tag or build sheet it's pretty much what it is. I'm in no way saying its not a real GTX. Look for rear torque boxes, that would be a good sign of a GTX.

You won’t. You need to link things together. Build sheet has VIN and SO number. SO number is on fender tag, then up front on radiator support and then another one on the rear lower bumper valance, just to the right side of the left bumper bracket.
Only option is to get the IBM card from Chrysler Historical. That should have the SO IIRC.

Typing at the same time.

Might want some lacquer thinner to clean VIN tag. Don't know if it would remove black border trim.

If by chance you had the built sheet you could tie everything together and have a fender tag made for the car. That is if the SO number on the radiator support, truck rail and build sheet all matched. Also if Chrysler Historical had the IBM card you could use that in place of the broadcast sheet.

Thanks for the help! For a few different reasons I ended up backing out on this deal, I think he gets a fair amount of interest but I wasn't ready to commit to buying and hauling a trailer 6 hours away without looking everything over really well... A few red flags there but I hope the car gets a new owner willing to put some bucks into it...
