Fast & loud/Gas Monkey Gargage did one of those
shortened micro buses

sort of Clown car territory to me

Because it didn't ride horrible enough in it's stock form, so they figured they'd shorten the wheelbase and REALLY make it ride like crap!!

Maybe they wanted a larger version of this 1959 BMW Isetta? :p

Parking space is tight these days. That calls for drastic methods i guess.

Shortening vw's was REAL popular in the 70's and early 80's.

I bet most of them you will find today are survivors of that craze back then - because today those things are too valuable to collectors to cut up.

My uncle had a 59 camper that had every option except windows in the roof and pop-up roof.

It even had a "kitchen sink".

How else could snow white cart her seven dwarfs around ?

GMG did one, I think their reasoning was the donor vehicle was MAJOR rusted-out / damaged in the middle, so they cut out the bad part and spliced what was left of the front, to what was left of the back.

That kinda looks like fun,......... but I would MUCH rather have the 62 savoy in the background (says the 62 savoy owner, lol).

Some people will do anything so they can say they drive a BMW.
And then complain about buying premium octane gas.:blah::blah:

There's been a shorty VW van up on a pedestal at a local dealer's lot around here for at least 30 years. It looks rather faded now.
