Drivers side remote mirror, different mounts on B Body?

Factory 66 and 67 mirrors are in the same location on both sides.

...and I have proof.

My question is, were the mirrors installed at the factory before shipment? Or did the dealership install them? A very knowledgeable friend who has his original 66 Charger sent me his measurements of the passenger side mirror, and it was different from the driver’s side.
I have read that some people don’t find the passenger side mirror very useful.
He was working on wiring etc for these cars before some of our members weren’t even a gleam in their father’s eye.

1967 wagons all has pass side mirrors from the factory. they are in the exact same position as the driver's side.

IMO, the main issue regarding "lack of useful visibility" is the "standard" glass that is not curved, like today's "objects in mirror are closer than they appear", wide vision mirrors.

This glass can actually be added. It's relatively easy to find, as it's a simple circle for 66/67.
I actually don't care about that and have no problem using a flat glass pass side mirror.

Aiming them at the blind spot, and not down the body line is another issue.
You WANT to see the blind spot, not the side of your own car.
