So I bought a 70 Super Bee...

Nice find, and rust free. It must not have spent it's whole life in TO.

That is such an awesome story. Some of us are so lucky to have a wife that loves these cars too! Mine is the reason we have a 70 Superbee. Congrats

These types of finds/buys are what dreams are made of. And yes, there are more out there. Actually more than realized. Still way too many. "Not forsale, I'm going to fix her someday." But for many? That day never comes.

congratulations on the purchase.

What kind of green was it originally?

FJ5, FJ6 or FF4, EF8 ?

Looks like a great car that is pretty original. Congratulations on a great score!

I am not sure, still figuring the car out, I was thinking F8, do you know what colours were available w/ the Bee in 1970?

all the above mentioned colours I wrote:

FJ5=sublime green (without metallic) a light green
FJ6=sassy gras green (without metallic) darker than FJ5

FF4=light green metallic
EF8=drak green metallic

take a look here
don't wonder they left of the first letter from the codes
Don't worry about F6 it was not available regulary on 1970 models

From the interwebs....

Started in '69 (I believe):
"E"** color code = new color in 1969
"F"** color code = new color in 1970
etc

Started in '69 (I believe):

the three digit sytem was used for the first time in the 1970 model year.
As you wrote the "F" is for a colour used in the 1970 model year the first time
All older colours which were still in use got a letter depending on the year they were first used. 1969 colours got en "E", 1968 colours got an "D" (like DY2 sunfire yellow)

Unfortunately no fender tag as mentioned but the little bits of green I can find look like F8. Interior dash and kick panels look like it was once green but has been painted black. Will fly up more photos soon, lots of rain in Toronto lately and the car is covered.

It’s nice to read about so many other “Nostril Lovers” or should i say “Nostril Pickers”, cause Im one too. I must say I’m truly surprised because when i first joined and made inquiries, my car didnt get love due to the Nostrils and i was told i was a fool for putting more money to restore it.
The money is spent and i get it back on Nov. 29th. I changed to 15” color match steel wheels and redline centercaps. Added a date correct six-pack to tge stock 440 and had it bored and stroked .55 over. Then I freshened up the 4-speed and the Dana rearend, placed front drums with date coded factory disc and restored front/rear suspension. Only need spring to drop the top and cruise
