74 Charger 318 original engine.
It has the wrong dipstick in it.
The dipstick is 21 inches long, which I
believe is correct. The problem is the
FULL & ADD marks are way off after
checking after a fresh oil change.
It reads as if the engine has way too much
oil. Does anyone have measurements from
the bottom tip of the dipstick to the
ADD & FULL marks?
Then I can make notches for correct reference.

Change oil and filter, run engine for 30sec or so, then shut off. Let sit for a few minutes and check oil level. If off, trim tube to read full on the stick or re-mark dipstick to suit...

I always changed the oil and filter less 1 quart. Run it and let it sit a half hour. Mark the stick as add and then add the last quart and mark it at full. You either have the wrong stick or tube.

The fresh oil change will work.
Thanks for the ideas

I would like the measurements from the bottom of the stick to the add and full marks so I can compare to the stick that is in there

I have 11/8 for add and 19/16 for full.
