Hello.
I am in the process of removing the disintegrated seat covers from a 1962 64/20 split front bench seat. Can someone help me with tips on how to remove the seat backs. I have all the hog rings removed, but am having trouble removing on seat hinge cover and trouble removing the entire seat back from the seat bottom. Thanks in advance!

Figured it out the other week. The hinge covers have screws on the bottom attaching them to the metal retainer clip. Once removed you have access not to a regular nut but a press fit acor style cap (looks like a mini top hat) Pry that off and then the seat backs just slide off the center "hooks") Naturally I took no pictures!

I am happy to find this post as I just received my seats back from the upholstery shop and he asked me to reassemble the backs as he is in poor health and couldn't get it done. So I will now have your information to assist me! Just wondering if your seat back is higher on the drivers side than the passenger side? Odd looking but it must have been built that way. Thanks...

Glad this will help you some! My seat backs are same low height, but I believe there was an option for the style you have. Maybe for the Belvedere and Fury’s. Send over a few photos when you get the chance!
