Guys,
Has anyone attempted to repair the rust in the front section of the trunk lid? I cut 70% of the folded lip away and then carefully cut through the outer skin and folded it back. Was thinking of sandblasting the two halves, epoxy them and then weld the outer section back to the top lip, but it’s still thin and pitted and there is a bitumen type matting in there?. Or, cut along the length of the base where it’s rounded and remove the whole strip, fab a new one and weld/ bronze it along the folded top lip?
Thoughts please, much appreciated.

Pain in the *** I'm doing one right now. Soon as I cut the lid along the lip the top skin sprung , sooo there's tension there. I have a 2nd lid for reference so going to use that as my guide to the actual angles and curvature of this one I'm repairing before I weld things back together. I'm doing 18 inch sections at a time. Fix inner structure then build front structure with lip.

Good work mate, keep at it. I’ve decided to cut the whole section off and redo it. Lot of work but worth it.
