I have been eyeing this car, along with the 69 Road Runner mentioned in a previous thread. I am having a third party inspection done on this car and going to look at it myself. But wondering if anyone on here has seen this car up close and has any thoughts/opinions? It appears to be a legit A12 Super Bee. I looked it up on the A12 registry.

I don't usually like orange cars or vinyl tops on muscle cars. Having said that, oddly, this is my favourite colour combination on an A12 SuperBee. The black hood, black top and black tail stripe somehow just WORKS with the orange paint.

There is probably a thread on it over on the lift off hood playground. They keep pretty good tabs on all the A12 cars for sale.

Someone needs their spray bottle of Armorall taken away from them!

Aftermarket radiator painted with a brush, no heater hoses generally = leaking heater core, you can see the C pillar seam under the vinyl top at the quarter panel to roof junction, pentastar on the drivers fender, bee circle shouldn't be White, wrong jack, ebrake is not hooked up, front suspension is a perfumed pig.

Special ordered to get pentastar on both sides.:bs:

Kind of sounds like the old pig with lipstick thing, huh?

We have record of it being for sale in 2008/2009 and then the ads listing it today. No one I know of at the forum has laid eyes on it. Many of the comments have been echoed here. I will add the stripe. It has been wearing it for a long time. Pretty creative art work.

At this price I would expect a few of the A12 goodies to be missing. As other members have stated, there are a significant amount of details to clean up. Tag and broadcast sheet are good. Nothing is stated in the ad about the driveline, numbers matching or not. Guessing no, as it is always a selling point.

You have to ask yourself what are you buying the car for? If it is to drive and enjoy without worrying about it, this is that car. Any type of judged show, they would stop the process after taking the hood off.

Just my opinion on what I see in the pictures.

Appreciate all this feedback. The heater hoses were immediately evident to me. I have posed the question to the shop since their sales guy said the heat works (how?). I also picked up on the pentastar immediately. I get the point about the roof seam, but with a different video that they sent me I don't see the same issue, so it could be lighting in the pics. I assume that "white" Bee was put on after the repaint that they clearly have a record of from some years ago. Don't know enough to know why the jack is wrong. And wasn't able to see about the e-brake, but I have a full third party inspection scheduled, so that should be picked up on if an issue.

The car would be to drive. I am not typically a person that wants a car that I would be afraid to drive. There are a number of things that I would want to clean up with the car, not the least of which is some of the oddities under the hood. Interestingly, any show that is not a Mopar specific show in my area, this car would draw a crowd - Orange and black tend to do that. I do like that it is a real Hemi Orange car (my favorite). Will be interested to see how firm they are on price and what I learn from the inspection. Car doesn't have to be a perfect A12 car (like the stripe issue) to satisfy my itch.

Dadsbee, school me a little bit on your comments regarding the front suspension.

And I completely agree about the Armorall. All that glossy shine is actually pretty off putting.

The whole underside of the car screams lipstick

From front to rear it looks like its been rattle canned spray bomb or undercoated, neither of which is a good thing ,

Hardware store battery cable ends screams CHEAP to me and is a huge pet peeve of mine

There are several members here in the Phoenix area.
I am in Tucson so a little over 2 hours south of them and might be persuaded to ride up for a look see if you want impartial eyes on it , provided its actually in Phoenix

Thanks for the offer. The car is in their Mesa, AZ shop. The salesman sent me a couple videos over the weekend. I lined up a third party inspection of the car. I am also going to look at the car myself at the end of this week. I can work on a few warts. If the exterior largely looks good, that will go a long way with me. I will definitely give it some attention underneath. At least it is apparently a legitimate A12 car, so that's a start.

Nothing was cleaned or prepped properly, just looks like a quick overspray. May have new lower ball joints, but look at the brake backing plates, sway bar, rear axle, even the diff cover. None of that has been removed, cleaned and then painted...they were all done in place assembled right over the crust = "perfumed pig".

That said, if the price is right as you say it is a real A12 and a good base to start with. All depends how much work, disassembly and reassembly you want to put into it to clean it up. I bet you find the stripe is actually painted black and all they could find was a white Bee decal to slap in the circle they left for it during paint. All they had to do is call me.. lol.. pretty sure I have a pair of OE Black Super Bee decals in my file folder from the '80's.

Thanks for that feedback. It may be one of those things where I buy it and drive it for awhile and then work my way through some of the issues like you mentioned. Based on the third party feedback, I might consider a refresh of the suspension. I will be very disappointed if the stripe is simply painted on. That is too easy a problem to avoid. Hell, I was able to find the bee circles available from Phoenix Graphics. I could make that change if the stripe isn't done stupid.

I am admittedly enamored with the Orange and Black combo. Hemi Orange is my favorite Mopar color (okay, a bit cliche). I can work with this. Even my A-body project was a never ending project. As long as the true-believer Mopar people cut me some slack while I work through it.

Do not buy a phoenix graphics Bee stripe, their's are clocked wrong.

Many guys paint the strip on vs vinyl, it's just easier to look after. The previous paint job on my own Bee, prior to my full restoration, we painted the stripe the put the Bee decals on and cleared over it all.

Thanks for the heads up. Any recommendations on where to get the correct bee circle?
