440 mopar weird engine tick

Alright I've got a confusing problem going on.



So I went to take my charger out the other weekend and when I fired it up I noticed a loud ticking noise. When it first started it was intermittent, but after a few revs to clear the cobwebs it became constant. Also, it fluctuates with the rpm. I pulled the valve cover and checked to see if a lifter was collapsed by cranking it to close the valves and pressing to see if I could push the lifters but they checked out. So I pulled the intake and got to the cam to see if there was any scoring. I checked this because it sounds more like a sliding metallic noise rather than a ticking or clinking noise. Everything looked fine in there as well. Double checked the lifters and they seemed fine again. Threw it all back together and and torqued the valvetrain again and still have the noise plus what I assume is a vacuum leak but that's a simple fix so I'm not worried about that. Any ideas on what else to check would be greatly appreciated as I am stumped at this point.
 
Check for exhaust leak ?
Don't believe it is a leak, the noise is more of a metallic sliding than a tick or clink. I did check if any bolts were loose on the headers before taking apart the engine and none were loose, even then I gave them a little extra before firing back up
 
End of the dipstick hitting the crank?
 
I'll check these Hopefully tonight. For what it's worth the noise does seem to be coming from the top end and not the bottom side of the engine.
 
The noise in your video seems very rapid. Sounds to me like something that is rotating is clipping something.
Could it be in the distributor or perhaps alternator?
 
The cam sprocket bolt can back out and give an irregular rotational scraping noise as the sprocket and edge of the chain scrape the timing cover.

I know you said the noise is from the top end but I have had a noise that sounded exactly like every cracked automatic flywheel. It turned out to be two small nuts in number 5 cylinder. Go figure. Just trying to help

Funny enough the alternator is a replacement because the last one started making a squeal and eventually lost its ability to charge. That being said this sounds different than that noise, you can hear it in this video once I get to the engine bay area. Thanks for input on all of the possibilities, I'll definitely check as many of them out as I can
 
Loosen w/pump and alternator bolts and see if any changes, report back , slack on the belt
 
Take the belt off and start it, agree that it sounds like a rotational type noise.
 
There are no words to describe how confused I am...
The ticking is no longer there and I have yet to do anything extra to solve the problem, just rolled the car oht and fired it up to start diagnosing. However I still have a couple problems, the squeal that I thought is a vacuum leak is still there. The idle is also sitting at about 2500rpm right off of cold start which is way higher than normal. Got yet another video to better explain the noise.

Also, I did check with belts off and still have the noise
 
The ticking noise does seem to be gone - bonus!!!!!
That does sound like a vacuum leak - take a small diameter bit of tubing and have a listen for the squeal spot while running the motor.
Could be inlet manifold gaskets.
It is pretty loud so you should be able to zero in on it fairly easily.
 
I could agree with that. Carb gasket?
 
Some of the new plastic pcv valves will make a whistle sound.
Unplug it for a minute and see if you noise goes away.
Took me 3 valves to get a good one.
