Being we are not allowed to discuss on For Sale threads. Thought I would post separately. A NNM 383 4-speed RoadRunner. Decent street build and looks to be a solid #3 condition car

I'm thinking a little on the high side of price ask. But certainly seen worse.

Thoughts?

Prices on those cars are all over the place.
Yeah. The Charger craze has drug RoadRunner and Superbee prices up too. Not at Charger level crazy of course. But none the less?

I sold this '69 RoadRunner for $9k just 4 years ago. Now it was not as new of engine build as Orange subject. But was numbers matching. It was a floor shift automatic vs the 4-speed. And was likely a small step down in condition.

But it does show what prices have gone?

You have to see a car in person to really evaluate it. The seller says that the bodywork appears solid. It sounds like the mechanicals have been done. We all know that body and paint add up quick as well as small parts. Who knows what someone is willing to pay. I look at it in terms of how much is it going to cost bring to the level I want it and what it's market value is in the condition I want it. Then I decide if it's overpriced. There were no under hood pictures, but the trunk needs attention. A car can be mechanically sound and you can still spend a lot making it look good. Yes, I to think it's overpriced, but how much is the question.

Yes. We have to assume what is said and what is shown in pics are close to reality. Serious frame rust would make the "No buy" decision easy. My gut says low to mid $20s. But "Gut" has wrong before.

If you like it and can afford it, pull the trigger. If not or you disagree, scroll on by. Thanks for not commenting in the sale thread.

Not commenting on the For sale thread is all well and good but starting a new thread about a members car currently for sale is lame. Don't you think it undermines the reasoning behind not posting on a For Sale thread in the first place?.

It will sell. Prices have gone nuts as of late. Seems to be a decent car that still needs finishing. His price is a good starting starting point since he does not state price is firm.

Based on sales I know have actually taken place in the past year. and what I can see in the pictures.

He is not far off , IMO

Good colors , 4spd and in a lot of buyers mind, the best year Road Runner to get . So he has a lot going for him.

MY gut says it will not last long

I agree as to good starting point. Leaves room for negotiating. Both parties can then feel they got a good deal. ruffcut

I have had my hand slapped for comments on for sale ads, but I believe that some honest and fair conversation is helpful. Everyone's opinion is different, but constructive comments are sometimes helpful if one is interested in what is offered for sale. To be fair to the seller, the price wasn't listed as firm and the the car presents itself well.

Then how else to discuss? If you have a better solution? Please, by all means post.

IMHO, the seller is a very trustworthy member here and at FABO where it is also advertised.
Reputation certainly goes a long way. And I believe adds value.

I would like to see what the hammer price concludes. (But I also understand that it is between seller and buyer. So both should agree that posting is ok.) This car is not a bad comparison mark?

So ......

I was interested in this car and sent the seller a private message. This was his reply:

I had over 1000 people show interest within 12 hours of posting. Almost 100 saying 'want to buy'. 1st guy already showed up this morning to look at car and sale is now pending. He said he felt he was practically stealing the car at $35,000.

I would suggest to you that the market has indicated, IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, that the value of the car was a least $35,000. Over 1000 people showing interest? Sounds like it was worth a lot more than $35,000 if you ask me.

1000 people???? 100 with prospects to buy???? Certainly the market has changed, but I wish the seller could have shown more of the positive things that made the car more valuable.

That is why you must check a car out in person, or have a professional inspector take a look. The 69 RR I recently purchased was Listed for sale in many websites by a classic car dealer, and for a decent price but did not sell. When I went to look I found out why. Looked great in the pictures, but it was riddled with many, many problems. I offered a lower price and they took it.

Again, any car must be checked out before purchase. I am glad he got his price.
