So I purchased a 65-66 b-body steering wheel , part 260-B65 from Herbs / AMS Obsolete and the splines on the hub are too tight to fit my 66 Satellite . My steering wheels from my Satellite , my 64 Fury and my 67 Barracuda all interchange spline wise , obviously nothing else about the wheels interchange . Jeff at AMS Obolete doesn't seem to know what it fits and does not seem to be interested in making it right . Have heard a rumor that the Dodges from 65-66 had a slightly smaller shaft that would be correct for that steering wheel . Does anybody have any experience with this situation ? If I have to get rid of it via a swapmeet , I would like to know what it fits . It is a PG Classic wheel . Any help would be appreciated .

I live about an hour from AMS to the north, and Joe Suchy to the south. Both are aware of the spline issues on the '65s/66s. I actually just spoke with Jeff today about a steering wheel for my '66 Coronet. Both Joe and Jeff have been getting the runaround from the manufacturer in Canada - PG. It is a known issue, but the manufacturer is not responding.
I'm surprised you're having an issue returning it to AMS. Jeff's a stand-up guy. I'd give him a call back.
Meanwhile, my original wheel is too far gone to repair, so I'm also looking for a reproduction

I installed a new one on my 64 Belevedere and had to file all the rust and corrosion out of the hub to make it fit. I thought it should have gone a little more on the spline but it worked and the nut went on ok. I also called the company that I ordered it from but got no help. It was not Herbs.

Do you know who the manufacturer ? 65's and 66's are their own design. Not similar to other years, as far as I know

Have had several emails with PG . And yes several resellers are selling this as fitting 65-66 even though they should not be doing so , as per PG .

Well, now that explains it. Back to square one finding a ‘66 wheel. Thanks
