E Mopars.

When I think of the push by everyone except consumers toward EV, I comfort myself by thinking “this too will pass”.

Barf.. instant torque is neat but cars with little to no character and class suck.

It's not just superior torque curve.

It's also lower maintenance requirements.

Higher energy efficiency.

Less environmental impact.

And that's today's technologies. Imagine tomorrow?

They do suffer a bit on the "Cool" factor. But can't stop progress.

Once upon a time an engineer had a vision of a horse less carriages would replace the horse and buggy. The crowds screamed. "I will never give up old Tea Biscuit for one of those devil made contraptions." But progress easily won the day.

I'm unsure why so many fear the future? P.S. There are still horse and buggies today.

I disagree with everything you said except that horse and buggies are still around.
Yes, EV will be pushed on us. But, gas powered cars will with us for many years yet.

Environmental? Myth. Batteries don’t make power. They store power made by conventional means.

Nobody that buys muscle cars give a **** about economy.. If they did they would buy a tesla. You can't be cool in a Tesla.

Yes. That was the point of "Horse and buggies are still here"

But the bottom line? Internal combustion engine has been obsolete for decades (At least for personal conveyance.) We will still need for heavy equipment. Very likely in hybrid builds. Trains have been hybrid diesel/electric for decades. They couldn't do the work if all diesel. Or all electric.

The next generation of battery and charging technologies will end any debate. Hell, electric damn near won over 100 years ago.

There will still be classic car ownership, and appreciation. But newer technologies will prevail. They would have anyways without environmental concerns.

Everyone screams about gas prices. And only points to supply. How about the other side of the economic equation? Demand. Let's start reducing demand for oil. Which by the way also helps with national security concerns. America's enemies are all funded by oil sales.

Again, the future is bright. If we so choose. The only question. Does the US lead? Or follow.

Silent cars are boring. I compare it to "relations" with a blow up doll.
(I'm guessing....I've yet to indulge in either of those things)

You really are clueless.
If the gas prices can rise, so can utility rates. At the very least, NOW we can price shop for gas at multiple stations. You cannon price shop electricity service.
Are you really this slow to learn?

You are thinking in the 21st century with a 20th century mind. Green is going to win. We are long past any debate. Wind is now in 2nd for US electricity production. And this is with 1st generation mills. The next generation are bladeless. Solar. There is more solar energy hitting earth every second to easily pass all fossil fuels combine. To ignore is just stupid. In 10-15 years we will be seeing solid state batteries that can charge a car for over 1000 mi. And with hybrid technologies? (Likely hydrogen fuel cell) thousands of miles.

This is a turtle race. And why is it that with the "Denying" crowd. Everything is all or nothing? So once again. We still have horse and buggies. We will still have classic car and motorsports. Just the vast majority of the newer technologies will be hybrid electric. And/or full electric.

Exactly how sustainable are these battery cars? What damage do they cause to the environment? How do they extract these minerals/chemicals to make these batteries? Wind turbines are killing more birds in California than they are worth. I am sure this is the same everywhere else that has them. I can see a future where the electric cars will be on the road and doing well. But I also see that fossil fuel cars are not going away any time soon. I cannot post what I was going to say without this being drug into the political forum. But there is a reason for this push.

I went for a haircut last night.....saw a Tesla pulling out of a parking space.....the only sound I heard was the indicator relay clicking on and off......inside the car.

Scary thoughts....you could get run over by one of those, and not hear a thing.

Lithium is the technology of choice today. They will be obsolete in a decade or two. Windmills kill about a million birds a year. The next generation of mills are bladeless.

We either lead. Or watch Germany, China walk away from us as the new economic powers.

That is a concern that can easily be corrected. I believe when electric cars has the extra battery length they will be replicating a "Vurrrrm." And we will be arguing that the replicated sound is not the same. And of course that would be correct. Digital can only hope to match analog sound. And does lose sound quality in digital format.

Well, I hope people don't use the sound of a Dodge Viper.....they sound like a cat being strangled mid-fart.

Electric cars are far from green. There is not enough power grid to charge them and run the AC in California now.

We just had 4 years of a businessman showing us how to run this country with our own oil. It worked pretty well, and the price was nice also. Did you forget how that worked?
