So Memorial Day is coming up.
I know lots people have plans and cookouts.
I also believe some people forget the real reason.
As a Gold Star family member I take it very seriously as a reminder to what we have and the people that gave their lives for our freedoms.
Last year I found this family that does great things for our military members and this year I'll have this flag on my Jeep below the stars and stripes, got it last year and have been waiting.
I wanted to send a thankyou to all the service members here and put this out there.
Have a great Memorial Day!

To all of you who fought for this country, thank you!! To all of you who were born here, you're lucky. I fought to get here, I'm the luckiest of all and I thank all of you!!

I am sorry for you loss Esoxer. We must never forget our service men and women who have sacrificed for our country. I salute you one and all.

May we all remember why we have cookouts and camping also the ribs with beer. We should be giving thanks to the men and women that gave the ultimate price so we can have that freedom. We celebrate it on one day of the year which I. Would like to press on everyone it should be everyday you give thanks to our heroes. To the ones who have survived I'm very grateful to you all. To the families who lost their own I pray for the memories and thank you for my freedom.

I've said it before... I'll say it again. Of all our important holidays, Memorial Day is THE MOST IMPORTANT. For without it, we wouldn't be celebrating any others.

My family had 5 males serve. My father in WWII - 3 brothers in Vietnam and one in the Philippines. while we pray for all of them we pray a bit more for the one that didn’t come home. May God rest his eternal soul.

& Yes I 110% agree, someone in my family
has fought in every war the US has ever been in...

IMO the meaning behind the July 4th, Independence Day too/also
without it we would not care or have a Military, defending US our rights
giving their lives for US/it...

our constitution & the bill of rights

I say it all the time

I have a MBF hanging in my shop and it reminds me of my dad every time I walk into it. I found this particular flag at an estate sale and thought how sad that none of the family wanted it and let it go in a sale like this. I've had a few guys say I should put it up on a flag pole but cotton flags don't last long like that. It's been in the shop for about 10 years now and some of y'all have seen pics of it before.....

I have two folded and in my office filing cabinet.

"Happy" Memorial Day to everyone here and their families, and I put happy in quotation marks because it is NOT happy by any means BUT it is a REAL holiday (if that makes sense). May we always remember and NEVER forget what this day is really about and why we honor it. My dad was an Army veteran and I love being a free American, so days like these remind me what tough of a job and hard of a job these fine folks have everyday and why I am so thankful for their service and sacrifice whether they are alive or not. God Bless Them & Their Families!

From the "CRANKSHAFT" comic strip, a few Memorial day's ago.
I always think it's appropriate to post for active duty, retired, discharged, service members, and families.

If you all like Country like I do, I think these 2 songs are appropriate for Memorial Day......
