What is the difference from early 273 intakes to later 273 and LA intakes

yes , but the head of the bolts won't seat unless you resurface those angles .

I can do that on the mill, thanks
Also could weld up then re drill to the correct angle

or just later 273 or 318 heads on your block .
Motor runs great don’t want to break apart unless I have to. But would be nice to have the hardened seats and I have at least 5 sets of heads 74 and up

Years ago, I had a first generation LA 318 in a '67 Belvedere II with a 2 bbl Stromberg WWC3 carb. Looking for a little more power I installed a 65 Barracuda Formula S, 273 cubic inch engine's 4 bbl manifold and Carter 3854S carb. Using the LA 318 manifold bolts, I ELONGATED manifold bolt holes (in the VERTICAL plane and very slightly in the horizontal plane) using a Dremel tool and a rotary rasp or file. Took a little trial and error grinding. Suggest using construction washers or wedge washers to get uniform clamping pressure and 5-8 additional #/ft bolt torque and factory gaskets (port gaskets coated with Permatex high tac and foam end gaskets using Permatex Black RTV). Rejet the carb ~ 10% richer. I also used a recurved Prestolite dual point from the Formula S engine, with 15° initial advance and 36° total all in at 2800 RPM, and Champion N-11Y plugs, and the Formula S engine cam, lifters, springs, push rods and rocker arms at Formula S lash settings. The car had a TF A727A trans, and 3.55 gears. Used the Formula S air cleaner and lengthened the kick down horizontal rod, because of the slightly longer carb location. Car ran extremely well vs 327 Camaros and HP 289 Mustangs. Just my opinion of course.....

First generation LA 318?

First generation LA 318?

The change over from the polyhead 318 to the LA 318 with the wedge combution chambers began in 1967. My 1967 Belevedere II was built in LATE September of 1967. Subsequently, revisions to the basic structure was the 340 and later the 360 with its myriad of revisions along the way. Not an "official" Mopar designation.
