Might be getting back one of my old cars...

Dig into the forfeiture and there’s all kinds of nasty. Every agency involved gets a cut of the forfeited money.
Not arguing with you.... And we think we live in a FREE country....LOL

Was going to say a money belt but if your flying the TSA will be taking you aside. Your in Canada does that make it different.

Not aware of any rules in Canada to transport money in Country.
I was referring to flying, but I am not sure about Canadian laws.... I would suggest you check into it before, rather than after... We lose rights daily

Thanks everyone for the comments and advice, will definitely look into a few of them and I always try to do my due diligence before proceeding.

I haven't contacted him yet since my initial findings with this information he may be amenable to another for of payment....he seems like a pretty decent guy and has said he would "prefer" cash but in our conversations I did not get the sense that this was set in stone.

Maybe he'll do half and half on the money. That way he can hide some from the govt. or ex wife it that's what he's doing.

Another Update....Finally got the cash deal sorted out, spoke with multiple people within the National Bank organization about how to proceed, got the final confirmation from a manager at a bank in his local area that is fine with me flying in and then picking up the cash.

Deposit on the car has been sent, and I have booked my flights there and back towards the end of May....so the car is almost officially mine again!:bananadance:

The Coronet is officially mine again...payed for, signed and sealed! I just got back home late last night from my trip out to see the Coronet and meet the fellow who has preserved it all these years.

Wally is a super great guy, really enjoyed the two days I spent hanging out with him and talking old cars and life. He's sad to see it go but he said he couldn't be happier knowing that I'm the one getting it back.

Couple pics of Wally and myself together with the car....

The car has not changed much in all these years...

This is the pic of the odometer I took the day it left on the transport 20 years ago....93,304 miles....

This is the odometer the other day...93,629 miles...

A whopping 325 miles in 20 years!

Only deterioration I saw was the paint on the steering column is starting to flake off, one of the power windows didn't want to work, and the chrome on the console top plates has gotten a lot worse...it was in OK shape when I sold it but I had used the best pieces I could find at the time. Once it's home I'll go through the car front to back and replace all the hoses, seals, and service every system on the car to get it ready for cruising again.

I had forgotten and was actually surprised that I had only opted for 14x6 Chrome magnum 500's...I was sure I had put 15" on it, they were brand new reproduction rims back when I put them on. I like 15" rims so not sure what I'm going to do yet...just replace the old 14" Goodyear Eagle St's, or maybe look at a 15" chrome mag 500 with new tires?

The shame of it is the car didn't get driven, but it kept it nice for you TC. Watched my road runner leave last week. Tough to let it go but priorites changed.

Looks like it was garage art, great to have it back. And man you tower over him

Imo only a couple decent 15" tires out there, maybe year one's plus sized magnums?
