Cruisin’ The Coast 2022 Mississippi Gulf Coast

Man, I just got around to starting the GTO for the first time in months, and I ran the engine in my Roadrunner for a few minutes too.
BOTH cars need cleaning and detailing, and I'm getting 2 SPAHL 10" electric pusher fans for the GTO like I have on my Roadrunner. The GTO has the same relays and Dakota Digital fan(s) control system as my Roadrunner for the original 17" electric 2 speed fan, but after I burned up 3 fan motors in less than a week, I put a mechanical flex fan on and added the 2 SPAHL fans to the front of the AC condenser. One relay per fan, and they have worked flawlessly. Same plan for the GTO, although I may have to go into the water pump (not before CtC) to check the clearance of the "anti cavitation" dome shaped plate they use. I am not sure if the guy who installed it along with the Wraptor serpentine belt and accessories got the dome shaped plate as close to the impeller as required, and it's been running hotter that I am ok with. I'm hoping the 2 pusher fans will help. If it's the plate clearance that's causing the problem, I still want the 2 pusher fans anyway.
The DD control app to setup the fan parameters is great, and the "test" feature makes installation easier to double check.

Nice. I thought I was ready until Dennis said something about wanting to check the 71 out in person. Now I have to detail it like I care about it so I don’t look like a idiot. Lol. Mine is nowhere close to as nice as yours or his car he had.

Yeah, well, I was disappointed with the status of appearance of some areas of my car. I have had a window AC unit for years to keep the temperature controlled and humidity down, but I was having problems with the cold surfaces causing condensation here in the swamp, and I stopped running it, but I have some mold and other appearance issues that just mean more work to do than I thought. I may have been better off running the AC.
I found the same SPAHL fans I have in the Roadrunner and after looking around I went ahead and got them from Summit again for the GTO. They offered overnight shipping for only $33 and that's cheap, and I have limited time.

Summit has a 255/60r15 BFG making its way slowly across Texas. Only major thing I’m waiting for. Besides putting on the air shocks. Oh and the vintage ac lines decided to start leaking over the weekend.

Hoping for great weather for all of us.
PM me if you want to

Car detailers came by the office today. It’s a week early. Take it home today and put its cover on till next Thursday.

Looking good!
I still have work to do on the GTO and Roadrunner, but mostly the GTO. Cleaning both cars inside and out too.
Sunday is going to be here too soon!
The weather looks like what I remember as "typical" over the last 26 years for CtC...BEAUTIFUL!

Weather update for the WEEK of Cruisin the Coast. Sunday October 2nd through Sunday October 9th, with daily increases of vehicles and spectators, the crescendo being Saturday October 8th.
For the MOPAR Nation, Thursday October 6th in Bay St Louis MS "Mopars in the Bay" is going to be a GREAT day from 8am or so till around 4pm, and then it's eastward along the coast, all the way to Ocean Springs and back, or stop a bit short in Biloxi.
Anyway the forecast is SPECTACULAR!

Thanks. My 440 6bbl has been running fine, for years, even if it had been a few weeks or months since the last fire up.
Yesterday I finally was ready to take it to CtC and it ran like ****. I didn't know for sure how bad until I got on the road. I've been troubleshooting it today and I think my next move will be the one that does the trick.
I certainly hope so, because I don’t know what I'd do next.

Dang. Hope you get it figured out. Mine has a Edelbrock AVS2 four barrel on it. This damn crap gas we have now just sucks. It doesn’t like the super hot days. But running down the road it’s fine. Just doesn’t like to idle all day.

I have 93 octane NO ETHANOL that I get about 5 minutes away from my house, and there is at least one Keith's Superstore gas station and convenience store at 102 E Beach Blvd, Pass Christian, MS 39571 that is toward the western end of the route that has high octane (92 or 93) no ethanol premium. I usually get my "on the coast" gas there.
One way or another, I will have the RR there tomorrow morning!
