I am in the process of putting interior door panels together for my 1966 Charger and wondering if anyone has a good way of attach the Charger plate on the upper part of panel by the upper hinge. It has 3 tabs that hold it to the metal and appears the tabs are lead or something soft and went the three holes in the metal and then mushroomed. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

You are correct, that is pot metal. I have successfully clamped them to the door and used JB Weld to secure them. I DID NOT grind what was left of the the pins.
Hope this helps.

Oops guess I was wrong. Sorry.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been considering doing something similar as you did. I also am thinking about JBW three clips a little smaller than the strip of chrome has on the top of the panel. I was thinking a clip on each pin. A hole would need to be drilled in the door for each clip to go through. Then it could be easily removable.

If I understand correctly you are dealing with the piece that has the Charger script.
If so you only need to attach it to the panel. That stays with the panel, so no need to try and attach it to the door. I can foresee a problem if you put clips into the door frame. Might be hard to pry off if you want to remove it later. Just my concerns.
