Anybody else been trying to deal with Firm Feel? Kind of not happy with them and need to vent. On August 15th, I ordered 2 rear sway bars. At the time I was sort of shocked when they told me 8 weeks until I would get them. Figured I would still be able to get at least one of them installed before freezeup, so went ahead with the order. They charged $1165.00 to my credit card on that day. It has now been 4 months since they took my money, and still no product. I have called them twice now and both times was told they would have them made in a couple of days and shipped right out. My opinion? If you can't supply the product you are peddling, be upfront with the customer. Also, I think it is ridiculous they expect to get paid in advance for these things. It's not like it is a $20 part. Used to think they were a decent company, but my mind has changed about them......

Last year I needed to get a steering box for my car. Everyone raves about Firm Feel, so I gave them a call, 8 month waiting list, then another 6 months for them to do the work.

I’m sure they’re a good company, and I know times are hard right now. But Steer and Gear got me one in a week

i ordered some torsion bars for a dart a year ago or so from them i forget how long they said but i remember it took twice as long as they said around a couple months, during my conversatoins on the phone with the same guy i came to the conclusion that money was there issue they was dealing with there supplier's on a cash only basis and they were robbing from peter to pay paul

For sure supply chain issues are at hand but they should not have charged you if there was no product to send. Can't remember for sure but there may be a law on that. Also get in touch with your cc company to dispute the charges.

Well, that doesn't sound good. Would make sense though with the runaround I keep getting from him.

I always deal with Steer and Gear as well when possible, mainly for pricing issues compared to Firm Feel.

when you talk to the same person over a period of time on the phone i remember exactly what that person told me, but he has dealt with several people and forgot what lie he had told me the month before. after so many counterdicting stories you have to see the truth it;s the money man

I would get in touch with the credit card company and say you never got the goods.
You may be able to reverse the payment.

The limit for claiming with your Bank or CC Company over here is 42 days.....under normal circumstances.

I had to claim once on a bathroom shop that went bust.....it was over 3 months outside the time, and the Liquidator was called in.....but I was the only one who got their money back in full.

Sounds to me more like Firm Feel are importing their product from China, and the delays are due to shipping and production orders. Suppliers should also be upfront about that fact also. If they don't have a product, they need to tell the customer....instead of giving some old flannel about delays.

You know, that makes a lot of sense

But thanks to covid we now have a universal scapegoat! Don’t do it right, blame it on the covid! :mob:

I hope you get your box
&/or be made whole, somehow someway
way too long to wait, especially when you've paid for it a long time ago

I'd contact the CC co. anyway, it can't hurt

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a case of 'a partial shipment, and partial & then full billing/payment',
but never received the whole order, which I fought for a year like 13 months
a different co., doing the same **** (long story)
them billing the credit card, in full, before they shipped all the product/s
(I did get some of my order)

the 'Visa' credit card co. made it good, credited my account
they dealt with the suppliers
after multiple complaints & calls,
I finally was talking with a mngr/supervisor at CC co.
not just the person that answers the phone in the claims dept.

Just got off them phone with them again. I loosely say "them" because in years past I am positive that there were several other people at the business. With the call for the original order and my followups, it has been 5 conversations on these bars. Every time it is Frank who answers the phone. So I have to imagine he is now alone? He told me he has been out sick for the past 1.5 weeks, but both my bars are made. He did tell me when I ordered that they don't stock these, but make each bar to order. Told me he will have them boxed up and shipped in 1-1.5 weeks. I am giving him a week and that is it. I really want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt because I think he does have the nicest rear sway bars out there.

I must have said something to him this afternoon that lit a fire under his ***. Just got a UPS tracking # and shipment confirmation. ETA of this coming Monday. So hopefully all is good.

Good to hear your stuff should be on the way. Never purchased from them before, but there's so few smaller companies that still support our Mopars...I'd like them to survive and keep a good reputation.

I bought a rebuilt Stage 3 steering box and some brake pads from them. Great quality stuff.
Maybe they really are dealing with the same bullshit that others are. Finding a good employee that shows up, works hard and doesn't stand around pecking on his phone all day is probably difficult everywhere.
I agree that they should NOT have charged you fully up front and delayed the service so long. Maybe the made to order parts require full pre-payment?
I know that with my SST Tremec 5 speed and the CAA air conditioning kit, they only charged when they shipped.

I understand that Legendary also charges your credit card in full at the time of order, and may not ship for a year.

I visited FF, as i live close. Bad idea, as they work ostensibly out of their house, and neighbors may complain. They seemed honest, but have huge, long backlogs. I took my steering box to Red Head in Arlington WA and they instantly rebuilt it and have provided superior, personal service - it may be too tight. As to torsion bars, I bought new for my 63 SF, then noticed the numerous used tb for sale here! AFAIK, bars do not suffer from deformation and reduced torque, but I shall start a separate thread for this question. Good luck!
