What size E clip for Kickdown Shaft?

When I disassembled my transmission there wasn't a washer or E clip on the kickdown shaft, I thought i could find one at any hardware store but no luck so far. I have what I believe is a 5/16 but it's too small, looking for a 3/8 I think.

This is I think what you need, says out of stock. check. Other places sell them. From Mega Parts

It's actually for the shaft within the shift selector shaft down on the left side of the transmission, I believe it's just a common E clip. I'm headed out now to try and hunt one down.

Is there a groove for the e-clip? You could use one of these but are they dependable? push on locking washer - Google Search

Can you tell me what size the clip is? I found a 3/8 E clip and bought it but the transmission is at my work, won't know for sure until tomorrow.

Mark said it was 3/8.. I'm thinking 5/16 but mark is probably correct. Just a file pic I took while mine was torn apart last year.

Looks like you were right Wayne, 5/16 it is, thanks! I had some goofy MS numbered E clip I could have sworn was 5/16.
