Cruising along at 262 km/h, a driver from Washington State was caught on radar. The speed limit for that area was 120 km/h. For those metrically challenged, 262 km/h is about 163 mph.

You guys have 120k roads there?? Dirty buggers!

We've got a few 110KPH stretches here in Ontario now, but you still get your car taken away at 150KPH. God I miss the 70's..

When I went to Sundre, Alberta for a Slingshot rally I set my speedo for kph when I crossed the border. When my bride flew in and I took her for a ride she glanced at the speedo and said, 'You're doing 110!' I told her, 'So are you!'

Personally, it would simplify a lot of measurements if we all just dealt with one system and one only. The metric is way too complicated whereas MPH, inches, pounds, yards, feet,
etc. is so much easier to comprehend:realcrazy:.:realcrazy:.:realcrazy:.IMHO...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

We have a sprinkling of 110 kph areas, but the a-holes in charge are taking us back to the '70's and reducing from 100 kph on the open road, to more and more 80 kph areas.

All in the name of "Road Safety".....

Speed limits are not the problem, in the same way that guns don't kill people....people kill people. Stupid people over-taking on blind corners, or drunk-driving.

My buddy Cliff is visiting a young guy in hospital today - he got into a 'mates' car for a ride home, and they rolled on a new roundabout. Five minutes in the car....nek minute they're upside-down, and the car is pinning young Connor to the ground. Connor is now in hospital wrapped like a mummy.....broken pelvis, internal bleeding, no teeth, and much worse to be discovered, I'm sure. And guess what ?....the driver had been drinking.

The metric is way too complicated
Are you f--king serious??????

What is difficult about 10 base counting.

Metric is all about the 10. It's so easy.

Imperial measurements should have been left been in the dark ages. Or do you still love Great Britain so much that you can't leave it's measuring system alone?

The car was rightly impounded, since it was at fault. The guy behind the wheel had absolutely no control over what it was doing....:)

No, I'm not Roger!!! 1 foot equals 12 inches which is far more accurate than having to deal with the shorter 10 when converting. I get the metric system some but many a time, when I try to convert measurements for say a recipe from metric to standard US, my measures come up too short leaving me either lacking in flavors, or ingredients, or way overblown. And just for the sake of pride, why should we Yanks have to adhere to what the rest of the World is utilizing? Maybe the other way around just might simplify the already too complicated and messed up World we now have...Just my opinion is all and I mean no disrespect to those that use the system. And I will also add that I believe that the Brits, UK Commonwealth have always used the Metric system and not the Imperial. I prefer the standard US for everything including wrenching on MOPARS...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Didn't need any metric wrenches on my '63 Plymouth...

Trust me metric is unbelievably more simple. Imperial has 12's, 16's, 1/4's etc. Metric is all tens. You really notice it when figuring out area's and volumes, weight is much easier as well. One of the few things Canada changed over the decades that was better.

Well, after 60 years of talking about converting to metric, I have as many metric wrenches as others in the toolboxes. 10mm gets the most use. I will say though, I like the metric screwdrivers and pliers.

You should complete your set with a Metric adjustable wrench. I paint mine red so I don't get it mixed up with my regular one.

Funny thing is Bill.....you use the Metric system everyday, and you probably don't realise it.

Your currency - the Dollar is a Metric counting system.
