When I was a street racer, I tried never to race other Mopars (unless I knew them).

It was basically a gm town, so that was pretty easy.
 
I have that article. I think it was Dave Koffel, he bought that 340 Demon new and did a few mods to make it into a street beast. I forget how fast it was but it was pretty quick with just a few mods actually. The car was maybe 1 year old in that shot. The article was in Popular Hot Rodding or Hot Rod I forget which.

I don't remember a demon but Dave made his name with the Flintsone flyer (gasser).
Dave rebuilt my carbs while his son Rick rebuilt my engine, these are great people!
I visit rick at the shop once and a while, koffels is about 5 miles from me (michigan)
Dave is in Ohio and still drives up here a couple of times a week, cool dude!
The B1 heads are what really got them on the map.

Wish I had a camera in my car back in 71 or so when I was in Germany....Frankfurt to be exact and drove up behind a Corvette and a road runner sitting at the light. Yeah, they were at the front and I was right behind them. When the light went green, they both got into it. Talk about making me homesick and still does even though I'm home! What a sight that was! Oddly enough, both cars had German license plates on them.

How did the RR fit on those streets?? 1985 Lamadiliena Italy, Navy sub tender crewman had 82 vette in town, BARELY fit on the roads.
 
Citroen 2CVs smoked like a 10 pack-a-day chain smoker & Fiat 500s were so small, MAYBE my big toe would've fit in them, but they were everywhere

There were smallish roads in Frankfurt but not all of them were. There was also plenty of room on the autobahns for big cars but the Germans built some large cars too.

I agree, Jeff. But, I was thinking about this car's link to Chrysler Engineering, as an unofficial Woodward Ave. test car. Perhaps Jimmy was experimenting temporarily with different induction on Chrysler's behalf. Another characteristic of the Silver Bullet was its 4 muffler exhaust system. It looks like this car has a lot of stuff hanging off its undercarriage. I tried to enlarge the picture, but it gets real grainy. It almost looks like there were graphics on the side of the car, when I enlarged the picture, but I could not make them out. Maybe it is not the Silver Bullet, but the overall stance of the car (minus the different hood) and flared rear wheelwells gave me the first impression that it could be. I am sure that you have considerably more knowledge on early race cars than me, and I bow to your expertise. Dave
