Yes. Show us a picture of the dash. If it is the 4 round gauge dash normally seen in U.S. Plymouth and Canadian Dodge, the car is a Canadian built Polara 500. The car has the 500 swirled side trim, spinner wheel discs, and fender mounted "Polara 500" sign. The Canadian built 500's weren't available until after the start of 1964 calendar year. They are quite rare. I can likely count the ones I have seen or know about on my fingers.

Wow! I NEVER expected to see this; a Canadian built Polara 500 with push buttons! I expected that the console shift would have been standard in the 500. My Polara was an earlier Sport Package car, which gave it bucket seats and console. My car also came with push buttons and plain console top. I changed it over to console shifter early on. There is another '64 Polara 2-door hardtop in my area that is an early Sport Package car. It has bucket seats and the shifter in the console but none of the specific 500 trim, like yours has. So, from this, I had already surmised the console shifter was a separate option on the Sport Package. I always assumed the Canadian Polara 500's had the console shifter as standard equipment, like the U.S. version. Your car has certainly proved me wrong. This would be a very uncommon build, and could be one-of-one remaining. I have never seen another. Congratulations on your inheritance.

This will be fairly hard to do, as the Canadian build plate does not give much option info, as U.S. plate did. Also, build sheets were not left in Canadian cars. A good place to start is to acquire a Factory Shop Manual and a Factory Parts Manual. And then, prepare to do some detective work. For instance, the only way I could prove that my car was a Sport Package car was to track down the interior code in my Canadian Parts Manual. By tracking down through the interior section in this manual, my trim code decoded to bucket seats in a Polara 4-door hardtop or sedan. By looking through the body wiring section of my U.S. shop manual, I discovered that, at one time, the Polara 500 was to be built with 3 red tail lights per side, with the backup lights set in the licence plate cove. This is how I built my car. By the time the 500 went to production, this idea was cancelled, and they received the standard Polara tail light setup. This is also borne out by pictures in the parts manual. I likely know as much about these cars as anybody, so don't hesitate to reach out to me. However, I am still learning all the time, as with details of your car.

That is a vacuum gauge. It more or less tells you when you have your foot in it or not. Again, I have never seen one of these in a 1964 Dodge (or Plymouth) console. Mine has a Factory 6000 rpm. tach there. The vacuum gauge was usually a Chrysler thing.

mine has nothing in it, it is the perfect spot for a tach. I need one!

This steering wheel is what U.S.production used on their 1964 Plymouth Fury and Sport Fury. The Canadian version with "Dodge" on the centre is uncommon, certainly in the U.S. This Deluxe steering wheel was an option, above the standard Polara piece with either full or half horn ring. Canadian Polara. and Polara 500 door panels are like U.S. Fury. U.S. Dodge pieces were much more ornate.

They are hard to find and very expensive to buy. They are a 2-piece unit with separate sending unit and tach head. The sending unit is usually pooched. There is a company up here that makes a new improved board for the sending unit.
