In my fifty years of doing electrical work I have NEVER used the push in connection slots on a receptacle. I have, however, removed many that had been used, overloaded and damaged. I agree, using pig tails are a great option in some applications.

Yes, push connections are never the best choice, they have screws on the side for a reason. Better receptacles have screw driven clamps. Pigtails work great too, if you know how to use and form them correctly. If you don't, they can be worse than push connections.
If you don't know how to cook, stay out of the kitchen.

Interesting wheels/hubcaps. Looks kind of like a sane version of the pontiac "8 lug".

My shop outlets are all 20 amp outlets with 12g wiring. I actually wired all of my 120 stuff with 12g wire. I did that out of ease of buying one size wire. I am not an electrician by any means, but I have a very good guide manual that was recommended by my friend that is an electrical inspector. I also buy quality outlets and lighting fixtures. I am guilty of using some of the Wago lever lock connections on my LED light fixtures. I do work around lots of electricians, you would be surprised how open they are to questions and letting me use their lifts when you show up at break time with good doughnuts or telling them pizza is on me tomorrow.
