Let's post some fun stuff here

Who has heard of THESE cars?

I have, one of my local Mopar buds has one of these that runs, and at least one more for parts.

A bizarre aside, I bought a nasty rusted out 74 Dart for the drivetrain. It had the lightweight hood on it, and all indications are it came that way from the factory. Maybe all they had on hand that day at the factory were Dart Light/Feather Duster hoods? Who knows....

I'm pretty sure that the Feather Duster/Dart Lite was a 1976 only option.

It is entirely possible that a lightweight hood was installed years after the car was in service.
I have read that during assembly, the cars were built with what they had on hand. They were not supposed to install downgraded parts though. If a car came down the line coded for a 2 speed wiper and they were out of stock, a 3 speed could be installed. In short, upgrades were acceptable but downgrades were not.
This came from Rick Ehrenberg. I wasn't there. They wouldn't have wanted a 4 year old kid assembling the '70 Chargers in 1969.
