About a month ago I caught a rat in the back yard in one of the two spring rat traps I have. I reset the traps (without bait) just in case.
A couple of days ago I noticed one trap had been tripped (without any sign of a "catch"). So using dental floss, I tied some cheddar cheese onto both traps and set them up again. This morning I found one trapped still set and one trap sprung (without any sign of a catch again). The cheese and dental floss were gone from both traps. At this point, not sure if now the varmint is a rodent smaller than a rat, another rat of undetermined size, or some other creature. Might try peanut butter tonight (which I tried before years ago without having success).
