Greg Kihn dead?

I heard that. Rest in Peace!

I saw him a couple of years ago with Rick Springfield and Tommy Tutone.

It was a good, tight show and the songs sounded just like I remembered them.

Greg opened with a new song that was pretty good- "Happy Man".

By all accounts I've seen from people who knew him, he was a good soul.
He seemingly constantly was involved with charity work in the bay area and folks all said
how unassuming and funny he was.
Oh yeah...he could pick a little, too. :)

Godspeed, Greg. Job well done sir.

My "good" 1987 band auditioned for a local bar that played a LOT of metal acts.

We were super tight and had a good looking female singer.
The lead player sounded like the guy from TNT.

We played "For Whom The Bell Tolls", which was only 2 years old at the time.

The manager said, and I quote- "nobody wants to hear that Metallica bullshit", and declined to hire us after that one song.

I don’t know how many times we played the live version of the breakup song off the unkihntrollable live album! Great version with the great guitarist Jimmy Lyon (a la Eddie Money) on leads and one of the best leads ever imo! Took me a while to figure it out and actually get it right!

Great band!
